The act of MTing isn't hard in any way, the fact that DRKs take considerably less damage than PLDs do on the tankbuster in A4 make them the better MT for that situation.

Just because you don't want to learn/play more than 1 class doesn't make this any less true.

There's a difference between being good at MTing (knowing the fight, holding agro and maximizing self dps while staying alive) and being a good MT. You can be good at MTing and still cause extra stress on your group from your lack of desire to play/learn another class to help in certain situations.

Actually as it currently stands I can eat orbs, mt, and still give my normal healers room to main DPS while in Sword oath up until Discord and even then the damage is laughable, unless your DPS are failing their job and it takes forever to actually kill it (Drk shines here, but if their taking that long their doing something very very very wrong), thus the advantages (currently) drk has over pld (in my situation at least) is very small. So as I said in my original post to you.

2nd, unless the tank buster gets to hitting stupid hard in Savage, which it probably won't, the advantage that DRK has will still be minimal.

This will be made worse as time goes along when we get over geared and Paladin's can more easily again, Main tank in Sword oath. For the sake of your DRK vs PLD argument.

This is exactly what I'm saying though, assuming they make the buster harder in savage (which they most likely will) this will be where DRK shines, and since the OP is asking who is the best tank, I'm saying it is entirely based on the fight, but the best tanks will be the ones who switch depending on said fight since the OT spot should be filled by a war.

In my static We made the easy call.
I lvled paladin and war and the other tank Went for drk and war

Therefore We will switch the MT according to the fight and We already planed using drk/war for A4 savage it will surely be more efficient.

I am just concerned about the fact that estoreic gear will be job only So it might be tough to keep 2 tank job with good level of gear

If this is what you're doing, the only reason why the damage is "laughable" is because you've got stellar healers. I'd be willing to be they could keep up a DRG doing the same thing.

There is no "best" tank when fights are more or less situational. A good player makes the job, not the other way around.

Many people often underestimate just how good a good DRK will be. DRK receive a bad reputation because currently there are ALOT of bad DRK out there. DRK mitigation is only slightly lower than PLD but they are more tot of added stress on the healers. ge output in tanking stance far exceeds that of the other tanks. For example if you look at the dual boss setup of A1: Both tanks will be required to act in the roll of MT allowing for direct comparisons of tanks in a fight. With a DRK/200 dps more than the other tank while maintaining a similar level of mitigation (although slightly lower).

DRK is the farming tank, PLD is the progression tank, and WAR is the beastly OT. When you have content on farm status and you don't need the extra mitigation then DRK will be the preferred tank due to higher MT dmg output.

Brb play A2 today, simplest instructions in the world. Why do I have to hold hate for every mob because you can't hold onto 1 flipping mob as a Drk or PLD or heaven forbid even have darkside on. Brb drag your boomtype all over the flipping map so the melee have to flipping chase after it to hit it.

Wtf is going on today. Hit fucking Flash/Unleash and move on with the day, turning everything into god damn rocket science. I finally understood why one healer thanked me last week for holding shit. Bunch of jackasses who can't messing it up and then not even having enough mental fortitude to at least communicate what part they don't comprehend so they can be brought up to speed.
Hold hate on 2 mobs, all I bloody asked of someone and they can't do it. How'd they even get through the level 60 dungeons IDK. Are DPS/healers tanking Fractal/Neverreap for these guys now because that's the only way some of these people getting to Alex even makes sense. Unless they flipping hunt farmed all their equip god damn.
