False argument. Just because someone wouldn't pay to play this game, doesn't mean he/she doesn't like it. We all have our own personal threshold when it comes to our own individual cost/benefit analysis of whether this game is worth a particular amount of money.
The devs have said that they aren't even thinking about this yet. To announce a timetable for when this game becomes F2P would be announcing their timetable for when all the necessary patches are in place, and I don't even think they have that finalized yet.
If you want to see when this game will be ready for a subscription, make the following list.
1. Is FF14 better than (some particular video game) at (some particular gameplay mechanic)?
2. etc
3. etc
When you get more "yes" answers than "no", you can start to think about charging for this game.

My Threads: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/s...vBForum_Thread
I don't mind if they give us a voluntary support FFXIV with any payment you wish option on lodestone. Gives them some more money to pay for more developers etc and get the game moving faster.
I'd surely buy some Crysta and then pay it forward. It's my way of saying thanks to those who are working hard to earn a decent paycheck.
This isn't some small developer making the game, which would make people want to "donate" out of support or pity. This is freaking SquareEnix, a huge company. They don't need or deserve pity money. They need to make a game worth paying for or take the failure as a sign to quit spreading themselves too thin and concentrate on doing what they do (or at least use to do) well - cutting edge, single player RPGs.
i don't think SE are fixing the game slow because of a lack of cash, more because there is only enough hours in the day, and you can say hire more dev's. but "too many cooks, spoil the broth"I don't mind if they give us a voluntary support FFXIV with any payment you wish option on lodestone. Gives them some more money to pay for more developers etc and get the game moving faster.

as to when will it be F2P, sometime after 1.21, (what a vague answer). i for one can't wait to pay, not coz i can't wait to give away my money, but coz i want play a finished game.
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.
Wow, is this thread actually for real?

Thank you to SE. All I wanted was to know when. The road map to version 2.0 seems to be well thought out for the most part, and I cant wait to see what Yoshi-P has in store for us over the next few years. Keep up the great work guys ^_^
You're a tool. Did you really have to bump your old thread that was pointless in the first place?
I thought you loved the game how it was even before patch 1.19? Why are you so excited to hear they are completely re-doing just about everything? You should make 10 characters, but only play one. That way you can give them even more money. I know how excited you are to do just that.
I wish they would get rid of Click n Buy. With a Company as big as SE, why can't they make setup payment directly to them instead of Click n Buy. Click n Buy so horrible, so hard to setup, crap verification system where they take some of your money. Google for them and so many complains and bad stuff from them, really give a bad taste in my mouth having to use them.
I guess that makes me a tool too because following the most recent patch I'm willing to pay for the game too... At least he bumped a relevant patch to the current news rather than something 6 months old that has zero relevance to current events.
