The Eye? [SPOILER]

Now then....

So out of the one thing missing in 3.0 Main Storyline I notice Matoya's Crystal Eye is not in 3.0 and Matoya is not blind in FF14.

However, Y'shtola is blind and she is Matoya's apprentice.

Anyone else think Y'shtola may get the Crystal Eye to replace her Aether Eye so she doesn't end up dying from using the Aether Eye in 3.X?

Is Y'shtola blind? I was under the impression that the color of her eyes merely changed as she made no mention of being blind. Unless I missed that.. >.>

Yes Y'shtola is now blind due to using the Forbidden Magic that sent he into the Aether.

As mention by Matoya when she said to Y'shtola "When did the Light fade from your eyes?"

"When did the light fade from your eyes?" Matoya asked her at the end of the cave cutscene.

The turn of phrase is used to indicate someone is blind. Y'shtola sees the world via aether now, but in doing so is draining her own life force.

Meh it just that the Discussion focus more on the Community view on this subject in a General way since this Discussion isn't actually about the lore but about the Community General opinion about this subject.

So I missed a part explaining how she now sees the world. I knew what the saying meant, but didn't take much from it seeing how she was able to still navigate on her own.

Probably Matrix-esque just particles of blue-ish light, that's my guess anyway.

I kinda glossed over and forgot about the latter part of the thread.

I don't know enough about Matoya's back story and other lore, but seeing her student/master relationship between her and Y'shtola I could see her becoming somewhat of a noble sacrifice so that Y'shtola could carry on her work in her name... in essence.

Would be cliche' as hell, but sometimes cliche' is good. ^^

Meh I don't see that happen despite it being a possible plot.

The Broom Side-story quest chain did explain she knows that she doesn't have much time left in her life but her life won't end anytime soon.
