I don't remember if Aspected Helios stacked or not. Both Dirunal or Dirunal/Nocturnal.

Same effects don't stack (Whitemage HoTs do stack...),so both AST having the HoT stance doesn't work. But the shield and the HoT do stack.
And with 2 AST in one group you have Essential Dignity twice as fast for single target burst damage and you have a greater chance to get raid-wide buffs. So it is not all bad with 2 AST in one group. I do wish that the HoTs would stack like the Whitemage HoTs do, but okay..

Every time I've completed A4, it's always been with two ASTs. They heal perfectly fine.

But do a pair of AST heal A4 while increasing group dps by 500 without extra mana support?
If so, then I need to have a chat with those AST to find out what they're doing differently.

Do you have logs or are you just pulling these numbers out of the air?
I'm thinking the latter because I believe you are;
a) Overestimating the DPS of WHM & SCH
b) Overestimating the DPS increase from selene
c) Underestimating the AST buffs (but yes, they do need changes, yoshi has said this himself)

I play the sch, and its relatively easy to do 300 dps in A4. My whm partner, usually does around 200.
I don't use Selene, I find that our combined healer dps gain during with Eos is superior to Selene's boost to the group.
I can do the fight as AST, but I feel like my contribution is far less.

You don't think astro can do 200+ in A4? I can see why you stick to sch.

Makes me wonder how bad the MP was hurting after the encounter or rather how many Ballads or Turrents were being ran to make sure they kept up with the spike damage. I don't remember if Aspected Helios stacked or not. Both Dirunal or Dirunal/Nocturnal. No one said they're incapable of healing things. It's mostly when things go South that they have issues. Experiencing and Seeing are two different concepts.

Most my Alex groups 1-4 are both astros, and we don't often need ballad unless there is a ton of stupid. I understand people thinking astro is weaker, but Jesus its not nearly as bad as people are making it out to be.
