Need Help Choosing DPS Job

Not sure if this is really the correct place for this, but I am still kind of iffy on what job I want to play.

Currently I have been leveling monk and am nearing 50. I enjoy the positionals and love the theme of Monk but, I feel kind of gimpy with damage. Part of this is just because I like the idea of having at least one decently hard hitting attack to occasionally see some big numbers.

I prefer melee classes and am curious of Nin or Drg have what I'm looking for. I already know I don't enjoy Blm, and Smn is fun but just not my thing.

If you like big #'s you should definitely play DRG! Downside to DRG was always the animation locks for their jumps but once you know the fight well it isn't as big of a deal.

If you like fast paced class go Ninja, I just came back recently (old main was monk back in first turn of coil + first round of extreme primal days) and I really enjoy how Ninja plays at 50!

We just got 3 new harder hitting moves as monk through the expansion going 50-60:

Elixir Field - new strongest AoE used once every 30 sec for 220 potency
The Forbidden Chakra - Hard hitting move for 320 potency used by expending your 5 stacks of chakra
Tornado Kick - Hard hitting (mostly a finishing) move for 330 potency that expends your 3 stacks of chakra

Each of these help to better illustrate the amount of damage you can pump for one move compared to all your other smaller hitting attacks used via priority rotations

I'm kinda nervous to try DRG because of just how complicated their rotation can be. I still need to get it up to 34 for B4B, but it still scares me to try and get such a huge rotation down.

Is it difficult weaving in the 5 chakra stacks? I know that they are a separate buff you get as opposed to Greased Lightning.

Outside of pre-pulls it's mostly weaved in while you're not able to attack your target/dodge AoEs IF you don't need to Form Shift real quick to Coeurl form to better maintain your GL stacks when you get back into dpsing again. You can usually get 1 or 2 charges in most of these instances so that you'll reach 5 again after awhile.

So it's not really a constant ability so much as something you use as filler in downtime?

Correct. With Meditation and Form Shift you pretty much always have something to manage when you're not attack as opposed to just sitting there

I will end up leveling Smn later on, but I prefer melee over all. Enough so that I put off my already 50 Smn to level monk.
