Double Diurnal AST can't stuck aoe regen like double white mage? Why?

imho that shouldn't be the case since unique buffs can be stacked from different sources unless otherwise stated in the spell's tooltip.

For the same reason Scholar's galvanize don't stack. If AST's want to have their barriers stack, I'd fully expect Scholar's to do the same. Also for future reference, Diurnal doesn't stack with Galvanize either.

The question is about the regeneration effect from Diurnal not stacking with the same effect from other ASTs, not the barrier effect from Nocturnal (which acts predictably except that it is able to overwrite and be overwritten by the Galvanize effect regardless of which barrier is stronger).

Not really an issue. Swap out to noc stance. Noc stance is not half as bad as people are giving it a bad vibe. a 500 almost potency instant cast has saved alot of people for me in a4 on multiple times that would have died.

Though I can't say for certain, my guess is that it has to do with how the spell is coded and the sects. Since SE doesn't want shield-stacking and since Asp. Benefic in Nocturnal provide shields there might be a check somewhere that simply blocks double Asp. Benefic effects on a single target regardless of sect. Maybe there's a shared flag on Asp. Benefic, Helios, Adlo and Succor. It feels kind of lazy, but that's how it is at the moment.

well the fact that WHM can stack regens, and that WHM regens stack with AST diurnal regens, it doesn't many any sense other than indeed the coding.
If we're taking about shields though, that could potentially be OP in some situations

Yeah, this whole thing is bizarre.

You can stack AoE HOTs of WHM and AST.

You can stack AoE HOTs of WHM and WHM.

But you can't stack AoE shields of SCH and AST, or SCH and SCH.

And you can't stack AoE HOTS of AST and AST.

This whole thing wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that AST and Noct sect both have enough issues already...
