Maybe its just because I do most of my content via the DF so I don't really see it as much, but for me it rarely has been a problem. Gear up on your own pace, its all good, and its not like every person making a group is going to be putting it at a higher ilvl then is reasonably needed. More so I would assume if you make your own PF groups you wouldn't be! Also for CT...I think there was only one time I saw a group do that, and it was before WoD came out. Don't remember if the ilvl was put high or not.

Anyways, nothing wrong with gearing at your own pace. Do it slow, do it fast, all good in many players book really. As was said by Mushashidon the Estoric/Alex Savage gear will be the best gear for atleast 6 months, with the only new comparable gear being the new 24-man that won't be quite as good, but easier to collect.

Also (again via DF), I've been in many groups that could have quite a good time, making jokes and all that. Yes some people will be very uptight, even in the newest content...but then, there will always be jerks, just as there will always be nice people. Just gotta roll with it.
