You guys are wrong that cathedral event if it mae from stone is a total different thing, thas nothing to do with the syrcus tower or LoA. We dont know what those ruins are but since they have have being over 5000, its clear a possible ancient civilisation even older than the allags,. But guys dont confuse yourselfs those ruins on azysla is a total diferent thing, but is clear not allag.

I disagree. They seem to me to likely be their ancient, pre-future-tech architecture. It'd be nice to keep around, and moving a religious building up there would be better for morale of the scientists than building just another metallic monstrosity for people to worship inside of.

I kinda agree that it could be a monument of their "primitive" days prior to becoming technologically advanced. They had a museum where they displayed their past achievements. I'm pretty sure that they'd atleast preserve some of their historic buildings and display them for tourists (like we modern folks do now).

That or it could be Meracydian in origin and we know that Miqo'te lived there prior to the 5th Astral Era and that it was the Seeker of the Sun that worshipped Azeyma

Do we really though? Not trying to derail the conversation, but I've seen that 'fact' a lot lately, and I just don't know where it came from. I mean, we know they crossed the sea during the Age of Endless Frost, but do we know from which direction? I'd have thought the ice bridge would be more northward, where melting would take longer and the ice would be thicker, not leading between Eorzea and Meracydia, which we know has a tropical or sub-tropical climate what with jungles and rain-forests described in game.

In my previous thread about unused lore-related data files:
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...atch-2.5-files
It is believed the Miqo'te first came to Eorzea during the Fifth Umbral Era, fleeing their ravaged homeland on the southern continent of Meracydia.
We know that Umbral eras make things crazy and affect climates in many different ways so it would surprise me if these ice bridges extended very far south

I went to the dungeon I didnt see anything that could tell me that is related to those ancient ruins on azys la. Yes I agree is totaly related to LoA and ST, but not to those ruins. Not even that is pretty ancient and build it with stone but also that the may that the building was made, its clearly no way that would have any relation with the kind of allag arquitecture.

So yea I agree could be something related with miqotes, who knows.

Going back to Ratatoskr, the sightseeing log for Tharl Oom Kash implies that was the site where Ratatoskr was slain, and her death is what produced the massive amount of crystallized aether in the area...much like how Tiamat's injured and bleeding presence is probably what is producing all the crystallized aether formations on that island where she is imprisoned.

As for the Cathedral, the Allagans had no religion at all, they only believed in technology. This is stated...hrm, somewhere! I think it was the description of a key item (there's a lot of interesting info on those for those of us who read em). So despite being called the Cathedral, I believe it is something else entirely for the Allagans and was simply called that (by whoever names the places on the map) because of its appearance.

Well we know the Allagans developed a god complex once they became scientifically advanced so it's entirely possible they did worship something prior to that and then became secular with the advent of science.

It's my personal belief that the four quadrants of Azys Lla once formed a city of some kind. There are a lot of ancient ruins on there besides the cathedral including roads, aqueducts and other temple-like structures. I think this city once housed the Warring Triad at its centre and the Allagans built the Flagship into the ground underneath the Triad for whatever reason and turned it into an artificial floating continent. Notice that unlike the other floating islands we've seen Azys Lla is suspended by technology and not by wind aspected aetheryte.

I wonder if the Triad might be Allagan 'gods' that they eventually turned on, sealed, and usurped the power of. This would mean the Triad were the source of Allagan technology and would explain why they built such a huge research facility around them. A long shot, but the most plausible theory I can think of based on what we know at the moment.
