    Some information about Ratatoskr

After doing some moogle quest in the Churning Mists, I came across Moogle archeologists and here's their finding:

    (sorry for the popoto quality)

But from this quest we can learn abit more about Ratatoskr:
    1. She had a palace similar to Zenith in the Churning Mist. This suggests and maybe confirms that she resided in Eorzea along with Nidhogg and Hraesvalgr

    2. The Skylords of Churning Mists might be all that remains of Ratatoskr's brood

Speculation: The sense of dread the moogle feel might be due to the possibility that this was where Ratatoskr was slain

Huh! Well that's certainly interesting. Where at did you find that in the Churning Mists?

I was going to bring this up in another thread, but someone was currently working on the quests. I skipped through a lot of the Moogle quests, but not these ones, and was glad I didn't.

Its good info, at some point it also talks about how Nidhogg went mad and tried to destroy all the buildings that were a testament to human and dragon peace.

The above quotes are from the quests at Tharl Oom Khash. I wish I paid more attention to the ones at The Rookery(correct me if I'm wrong, but this looks to be the place the Knights met after slaying Nidhogg) . Also I don't remember The House of Letters being mentioned. Lots of interesting places in the mists.

Well we already knew that Ratatoskr lived in Eorzea, because she was killed by King Thordan and his Knights. Also, the skylords are the brood of Hraesvelgr and the landlords and the brood of Nidhogg (unless I have them backwards). The Moogles just don't know any different, so they assume that the dragon who lived there must have been one or the other.

Isn't landlord just their term for the proto-Ishgardians?

Given everything we know, this is the case, yeah. Landlords are the race of men and skylords are the race of dragons (even though some dragons don't appear to fly)

I'm curious to see if we'll get to know more about Ratatoskr, as well as what she looked like. Given that her fate was the catalyst of all of Heavensward, we know preciously little about her aside from the fact that she was killed. (Despite which, she was actually the Great Wyrm I felt the most sympathy for, aside from Tiamat.) I'd like to know what she was like, what her personality was and her relationship with mortals.

No, I am pretty certain that landlords and skylords are both dragons. There are even areas of the Churning Mists named after the landlords, and the moogle quests have you fighting landlord dragons who are trying to attack Zenith. I also don't think it has anything to do with whether they can fly or not because many of the landlords do have wings.

    Nope, landlords are indeed men.

The Churning Mists was home to dragons and mortals before the betrayal. It's made fairly clear in the Moogle quests that the Landlords were the mortal races and the Skylords were the dragons. If you look at all the ruins in the Landlord Colony area you can see they were built for mortal races, whilst the other structures like Zenith are more grandiose and only really accessible to dragons.

When the Moogles refer to the dragons attacking Zenith they simply refer to them as minions of Nidhogg. The Skylord and Landlord terms are historical names for the dragons and men that formed the civilisation millenia ago. If Skylord referred directly to Hraesvelgr's brood as you suggest then why do the moogles in the OP's post refer to Ratatoskr's brood as Skylords?
