Only if it's not dead.Accuracy is not 696 by the way. Either 699 or 700. There's been recorded a recorded miss at 697. I'm wagering towards 700, as that would mean there's a 12 accuracy gap difference between A6S, A7S & A8S at the front; 676, 688 and 700, respectively.
Also, at 853 Skillspeed, wouldn't you gimp yourself by being extremely TP starved?
At 853 you run out at around 202 seconds and at 973 at around 195 seconds. The current issue for MNK is that it is impossible to avoid having this ridiculous amount of SkS. If it was possible having less SkS that would be great but now with the stupid level we're at it's not going to make that much more of a difference going all the way up to 973.Accuracy is not 696 by the way. I was not aware that there was a report of a miss but it's an easy fix by removing 1 crit materia and one SkS materia and using the steamed staff instead.

Here's a build at 690 SS. http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/T6VGAt 853 you run out at around 202 seconds and at 973 at around 195 seconds. It's not weighted to maximize stat, only to keep Acc and SS low.
Won't make it until 2nd invig unless you drop Fracture or Forbidden Chakra. Tried with an imaginary set to see how it would be, with a set of 1094 crit, 700 det and 500 SkS you would barely make it until the 2nd invig and you would do about 15 more DPS. So if we weren't so SkS bloated low SkS would be the BiS.Here's a build at 690 SS. http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/T6VG

Krindor. Does your spreadsheet even account for BFB being used 1/2 through or more through your GCD?
According to all of my models, you can achieve 11 GCDs in BFB on a Monk/Ninja at approximately 700 SS and this is before Selene. 950 SS is absolutely overkill for what you're trying to achieve.

Also, if you're simulating at X amount of GCDs, you need to realise that encounter length greatly shifts the amount of GCDs you can pull off.
For example, I'm simulating extremely low SS vs High SS Dragoon stuff at the moment. Depending on the encounter length, the Low SS can beat the high SS, as the encounter length will end at a point which will favour the Low SS set (IE, ending at a Full Thrust).

It counts as the timer starts ticking when it's 0.6 seconds left until the next GCD so it's basically activated around half way through. I also tested it in game, at 960 SkS with BfB popped just enough that it doesn't clip into the GCD and at that point is very tight. Also tested it multiple times with my current SkS at 771 and it is impossible to get the last hit in even if the BfB is popped at the best possible moment. This is with 20 ping to the server.Krindor. Interesting. Must be something wrong with how my sheet calculates delays, I'll recheck it.
Also, the actual animation lock for oCDs like BFB is roughly 0.7s, not 0.6.
But either way, are you really advocating for those 900SS sets for an 11minute encounter like A8S? Or are you just calculating it purely for use in a 3-minute parse?

These are based on an encounters were you won't run out of TP. While I haven't been into A8S there should be multiple opurtunities to get in purification and you also have a BRD/MCH. Tbh if there was such a thing as a low SkS monk I would definitely chose it over the high SkS but as long as we're forced to be over 700 SkS the differense is being able to last about 5% more into a fight.Interesting.
