Pretty much this. Although im not in the 2k club, only 1.9k, i also dont have the 210 weapon and im i203. I'd say what holds me back from 2k is just being sloppy and making mistakes.i206 here with i210 weapon and tbh it's all about sustain and maintaining 5 stacks on main priority targets at all times. Last wave can equal a lot of dps gains if aoed down correctly and then double dotting the widows with 5 stacks up. Just gotta make sure you're always attacking something with 5 stacks which goes without saying.
I'm coming back to that monk life boiz, like 2 more weeks![]()
Hey people! I have a question and I figured I'd ask here rather than making a new thread about it. I'm currently levelling my MNK (58) at the moment, and while running The Vault, I was wondering what the optimal Perfect Balance "opener" would be when you already have GL3.
I ask this because during the first and second bosses The Vault, I don't use Perfect Balance before they transform, so I have GL3 and Perfect Balance still ready for use after they transform.
So far I've been getting into Coeurl Form and going:
Demolish -> Dragon Kick -> (B4B) ->Twin Snakes -> (IR) -> Snap Punch -> (Pot) -> Touch of Death -> (PB) -> BootShine -> (EF) -> BootShine -> (HF) -> BootShine -> (Steel) -> BootShine -> (ST) -> Snap Punch -> (tFC) -> BootShine -> Twin Snakes -> Demolish -> Normal Rotation.
Not sure if this is optimal, but I tried a few things and this is what I came too. Would it be better to just do my regular opener on the bosses small form anyway?

You have GL3 ready after they transform, and perfect balance? If that's the case, you might as well pop PB before they transform in such a case.
If you feel a risk of dropping GL3, you save it.
I guess you mean that you save it in case it drops. But then you didn't lose GL3 so you now have a free PB cooldown you don't know what to do with?
As a damage cooldown, I don't think many people bother with PB for that purpose.
At least for me, if that was the case I'd not use PB at all during the encounter.
I'd instead use it on the trash afterwards for rock breaker spam, which should be give more damage than what you would've gotten on the boss anyway.
Welcome Back :3
I'm personally getting bored of Monk. I wanna be a BLM or MCH but I just don't have the time to level it and I doubt I can play any job as decently as I can play monk. At this point I don't even have to think about what GCD to use or when my oGCDs are up its the same thing every pull like clockwork. I need something new.
Play dragoon lol it's fun and rewarding.
So we cleared A2S guys, and at ilvl 195 I was around 1520 dps by the end (thanks to not using so many rockbreakers as I was before, I'm assuming). Now that we are going to A3S, I am scouring google and these pages (104 pages is a bit much!), but have not seen an outline of monk tactice for A3S. Namely:
1) When to use mantra (saw a nin opener that said to use in the beginning https://m.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comment...savage_strats/)
2) Are there any time lapses between phases where I can TK, or is GL3 up forever?
-subquestion: if gl3 can stay up forever, will using a TK-->PB on a hand which needs to be lowered do some serious burst damage? Or no?
3) Is this a fight where I will be purifying, FC-ing, or both?
Thank you!
