Are there anymore updates that will happen to monk? I thought this won't happen till 3.1?

yup that's it entirely, crit is RNG and makes your DPS either go high or sub par. There is nothing else to it. Don't get me wrong I do agree lining the buffs is essential, but that's why you have to hold off sometimes to align it with your skills so you get the best outcome. But I assume people are trying to find a opener where as you can immediately pop buffs as soon as they are available and get the best outcome with it, but that is wishful thinking. Fights are designed to have different mechanics which won't make the possible 100% of the time, so I would just hold off on cds and pop them appropriately.Thats because nothing in our rotation is erratic, its all the same, boot --> true --> demo --> dk-->tws--> snap--> boot--> true--> snap etc filling in ToD and your ogcds.
The one thing that you can map out, is how your off globals and buffs line up in the next 2-3 minutes. How many times does ToD get IR buff or B4B when they are up. Demo usually gets B4B buff but not always IR buff. How many Off globals get IR/B4B and can you better align your opener to make the next 3 minutes better.
Opener is always important, the highest burst should be what we want to aim for provided that it doesnt put our buffs in an awkward position down the line.
The only reason why you think it doesnt matter because dmg looks the same in the long run is because crit RNG.
@butherboy
I think there was still a case for the meditation stack being changed... but i think they also applied it though. It's 1.5sec gcd now. Unless they changed it so we can get faster stacks during down time or not engage in battle. Other than that I don't think there's any more changes happening that they mentioned.

Yup. Pretty that's what I've learned as far as playing a mnk. When it's up Pop them right away.
1.2 gcd on medi, not 1.5. Major difference.

Soooo, whats the best opener now?
Straw Hat on FFXIV ?
When it comes to buff management, the great thing about our buffs is they share the same CD length as many of our other oGCDS. So our openers work out really well in lining up our buff. As long as you don't hold Elixer Drive or Howling Fists, it will be up for every single Internal Release (our strongest buff). Other than that, we are unable to line up B4B with 2 Demolishes anymore unless we are willing to clip (I am definitely willing to clip at like sub 5 seconds, I just haven't looked into B4B Demo X 2 yet).

Here's what I do. Not sure if the best though.
5 chakra stacks + Form shift into Coerul > Demo > PB > Snap > B4B > Snap > pot+IR > DK > T. Snake > Howling Fist > Snap Punch > ToD > Steel Peak > Boot > Elixir Field > True Strike > S. Tackle > Demo > F. Chakra > normal rotation.
I've also started incorporating meditation if I have > 4 secs on DK since Meditation has 1.2 recasts. It is very possible to do meditation every 3 gcds after snap/demo though with the duration of GL 3 increased to 14 secs and would almost encourage it.
Using Meditation in your rotation is a dps loss and you should never do it.
thats what fracture is for
high skill speed (750-800)/fey wind opener

notation
Form Shift Coeurl - (Shoulder Tackle) - Demolish - (Perfect Balance) - Snap Punch (BFB) - Snap Punch (Internal Release) - Dragon Kick (STR pot) - Twin Snakes (Delayed Elixir Field) - Bootshine/True Strike (Steel Peak) - Touch of Death (Howling Fist) - Bootshine (The Forbidden Chakra) - True Strike - Demolish - Dragon Kick - Fracture - Twin Snakes - Snap Punch
bootshine/true instead of the last snap punch in regular opener, fracture before 2nd twin snakes since it'll be the last GCD with str pot and bfb up. with high enough sksp you won't drop twin snakes anyway
