Am I correct in completely excluding forbidden chakra from my opener and saving it for purification if i'm going to be using fracture?

Depends entirely on the encounter, if the encounter has a lot of downtime you're going to have enough TP anyways, if it got short downtimes were you can charge chakra you can use those to purify instead, only thing were this is really an issue is on the SSS dummies were if you have more than 700 SkS you're going to run out of TP before the dummy is dead so purification is needed anyways, in this case you can use fracture multiple times during the fight without running out of TP.
Hello my monk brethren, I have a question. What is the general concensus on the topic of popping IR or BfB when you know it's not gonna be used in its full cycle. For example, I can use BfB on nid ex just before the 4 towers but I know that he is going to jump when it's at 10 sec left. Should I still use BfB on this kinds of situation (or IR for that matter). When should we use Bfb or IR when we know the boss is going to jump before we exhaust its timer?
I'd say it completely relies on what comes next, and how much DPS you NEED to do when you use it. For example if you have to burn a DPS check, then b4b would absolutely be good to use to make sure you pass the check, even if it's not completely used up.Hello my monk brethren, I have a question. Or if in certain cases where the next phase would guarantee a DPS loss even if you use b4b, like when Ratfinx goes from small to big.
Basically keep in mind, if you're going to use b4b and cant use all of its time, make sure it's necessary. And determine if you could do more damage to the boss with b4b after the jump as opposed to before (assuming it doesn't come back up when the boss returns).
Is there a present soft/hard cap for skill speed right now? Or does it just keep stacking up?
Hard cap is at 1.5 GCD under GL3 , though this could be argued that this is more of a soft cap as you can benefit from SkS when not in GL3 but that is about 3% of a fight, also DoTs are still infinitely affected by SkS so it isn't a real hard cap, but the damage increase is extremely low.
Excluding any mechanic I would say that look at the amount of time as a percentage, if you look at the time used versus the time held. Ie if you use it for 50% of the time it would only be worth if the time you would hold it is longer than 50%, for BfB this would mean that if the time were you can't use it is longer than 40 seconds.

I see. I guess I'm waiting for Ossom's answer something like: A) Don't use IR/ BfB if you use it for 1 sec before the jump B) Use IR/BfB if you have 10 sec or less before the boss jumps. Something like that.
Theres some complexities that make this pretty hard to calculate what is the best solution. I usually just save buffs if they won't get about 75% or more of their duration, especially if the intermission ( boss jump ) is less than like 30 seconds.
Hi all, a very noob question: does anyone (still) use Form Shiftx3?
I find it awkward to use when starting a fight, and even more difficult to know what form I am in/need in the middle of the fight if there is a lull period.
Can I thus simply start with DK rather than Demo? It's a lot easier and the time difference between Demo at start or end of the combo isn't that much.
I use it a lot, but you can skip it in the beggining and use PB as soon as you engage and skip out on the extra snap at the end of PB. As for in fight, it isn't too big of a DPS loss when you start in DK and in some fights it's even benefitial. But the primary use of form shift is to keep your GL stacks so always make sure you form shift into a form where you know you'll keep your stacks, also if you aren't using form shift during down time you should use meditation.Hi all, a very noob question: does anyone (still) use Form Shiftx3?
