Now who said DRG can beat Mnk dps EASILY?? Skill for skill? how much more dps we talking? B/c this data suggest it's not that obscene.

For one, you want to check fflogs, it's more accurate than that spreadsheet.Now who said DRG can beat Mnk dps EASILY?? Skill for skill? how much more dps we talking? B/c this data suggest it's not that obscene.

For another, most fights, no one's saying DRG should beat MNK. What you are referring to is probably the raid contribution of what Disembowel + Litany + personal DPS DRG brings vs MNK's personal DPS, and that is where people typically talk down about MNK since only in A2 can MNK provide more raid DPS than a DRG.

Am I bad if my dPS on dummy at 206 is like 1,390 without food? This is only one test mind you I ask because this guy is telling me I should be doing 2k dPS, first time I heard of a monk doing that high.

Just want to make sure I didn't miss out on some crazy tech.
No one is doing 2k DPS single target at our current gear levels. Just sounds like someone trolling.

Should be getting mnk to 60 tonight or tomorrow, is the OP still pretty up to date? Doesn't look like much has changed from 2.0, but one question I'm not sure on, is there any "general practice" for meditation stacks during a fight? It seems like there are some spots, sort of like with fracture, where you have an extra second or 2 to squeeze something in without effecting timers. I think I'm doing OK so far (OK, as in, pretty much tanking everything on monk when I run a dungeon lol >.>) But just wondering if that's something that goes on at lv60 monk or if it's too much dps loss

If you are already at 3 or 4 stacks, then Meditation can sub in for Fracture, particularly when you know it won't tick out:
320 / 1.2 = 266.666667 (1x meditation -> Forbidden Chakra)
320 / 2.4 = 133.333333 (2x meditation -> Forbidden Chakra)
220 / 2.032 = 108.267717 (Fracture)
320 / 3.6 = 88.8888889 (2x meditation -> Forbidden Chakra)
Of course, uptime is preferable and accounts for far more DPS than minutiae like this. Meditation is intended for downtime; you'll be spamming chakra during most TP breaks.
The real doozy is knowing the instance well enough to know whether to Tornado Kick or try to save your stacks. You must choose, but choose wisely.
٩( ʘᆺʘ )۶ Qiqirns never skip egg day!
More importantly you need to know the timing for when the break is going to happen really well because if you use it too early you lose all DPS advantage and potentially outright lose DPS. Luckily on a number of fights now the bosses jump immediately after or just a few seconds after a specific move. So you have to learn the animation timing.
Yeah the Alex Savage fights have some pretty easy to identify Tornado Kick points.More importantly you need to know the timing for when the break is going to happen really well because if you use it too early you lose all DPS advantage and potentially outright lose DPS. Luckily on a number of fights now the bosses jump immediately after or just a few seconds after a specific move. So you have to learn the animation timing.
(e.g. Oppressor jumps 2 autoattacks after Royal Fount, Living Liquid transitions to Tornado form one Fluid Swing after the last Hand of Prayer...etc.)

Cool, ty guys. I probably won't be doing anything too intense as I have no 60 gear except accessories lol. And yea, I gave TK some thought too, not unlike trying to squeeze one more GK before a break on drg. Speaking of which, it would be cool if GK was like Elixer Field, prolly my favorite part of leveling monk so far xD
