EF, Shoulder Tackle, Steel Peak, HF and FC must be used when Trick Attack or Battle Litany are up if You have NIN with next order:If we're talking about pps would it be better to do ST before HF and steel peak before HF? Meaning get your lowest recast Gdc out first so that they are back up again as Deon as possible? But for opener I do DM PB SP bfb SP ir DK pot TS EF SP st BS peak TRUE hf DM fc FRACTURE.
Trick Attack > FC > EF > HF > Steel Peak > Shoulder Tackle
Just use the highest potency skills during Trick Attack or Battle Litany.

Ok that makes sense.
I agree with Ossom ^^
Popping buffs too early means you will be missing a few *fully* buffed GCD where you would be doing your absolute highest damage. Prolonging this "fully buffed" phase is essencial for a high bursting opener.

I like Ossom opener when it was introduced it was easy to grasp from a dummy and real fight applications but at ilvl 196 1325 sustain and 1.6k burst was the most I can do and I couldn't seem to break past that. I do everything right. I even made a video using my ps4 just need to figure out how I can extract that and post it here. But I just couldn't break past those numbers, and then a YouTube vid was posted ilvl 197 monk spike at 1.8k and 1400+ sustain using the old 3.0 opener, that's why I went back. I get better parse with the 3.0 opener, and I was hitting much higher number. Food POT no MS.
Just 1 question, why are you still on i196? your numbers are fine just your ilvl isnt.I like Ossom opener when it was introduced it was easy to grasp from a dummy and real fight applications but at ilvl 196 1325 sustain and 1.6k burst was the most I can do and I couldn't seem to break past that. I'm ilvl 201. I'm just making an example of why I change rotation.

Hi guys, updated the guide and added Thordon EX. Hope it helps new monks in the fight. GL to you all. (get it? GL to you all? Grease Lightning to you all? no? okay....)
While you are updating go ahead and throw in the updated weights that Dervy has come up with.
WD: 10.714
STR: 1.000
DET: 0.139
CRT: 0.167
SS: 0.116

Done. Updated stat weights.
EDIT: I see some opener debates happening again. I've done both openers, 3.0 opener + Ossom's opener and I still get same consistent dps post opener. Now as for the spike for the opener like I said before it's very marginal at least when I look at it in a parser. This is with no food + no party buff. So whichever opener you do should not be a problem as long as you can be consistent in your dps post that.

My opener will spike lower. Mainly because it takes much longer for you to stop pulling your punches (CDs going up). Other than that it just feels unnatural to throw up CDs before all your GCD buffs are up. But w/e works best for the monk in questions I say go with it, you'll gain far more dps if you feel comfortable from the start of the fight. Unfortunately I can't parse, (SE Fix this) so I don't think I am qualified to add much more to this discussion.Done. Updated stat weights.
