Never been an issue for me while I've been playing my PLD. So the mob gets pushed back for a few seconds, so what? It'll just come right back to me when the bind's done. So... you could get better with managing enmity on multiple mobs instead of complaining about a few seconds of damage you won't be taking.

Of course if I were a melee and the WHM knocked back the mob I was attacking, well then I'd understand your frustrations.

It doesn't annoy only tanks and melees. Yesterday I had a MCH who used his knockback abillity right in the same moment I had the 3 dots on a mob and used bane. Bane spread on......nothing, I literally wanted to kill him lol. So yes, knockback annoys pretty much everyone (SCHs and SMNs too).

I had a WHM argue with me about this the other night while I was leveling my DRK, I asked politely for the love of all tanks everywhere to not push back any mobs.

"But they run right back to you" *Facepalm*

I deal AoE damage to maintain threat, doesn't matter if it "Comes back to me" if it's not in front of me it's not taking damage from me, and I don't want to have to chase it down if it's a mob that doesn't move, cause then I risk neglecting the other mobs, which of course of the DPS don't follow me to the other mob will very well happen.

I explain this of course, they proceeded to keep doing it anyway.

I agree with everyone else, if we want help cancelling a mechanic that our stun can't take care of or is on CD, we'll ask. but don't just do it cause it's fun for you, cleric stance and stone or DoT as a SCH and whatever else ASTs do. THAT'S IT!

I think we could all generalize about bad healers or tanks.

Fluid Aura can be a very good skill if used appropriately.
While I don't necessarily do this myself, I could argue that by pushing an add away from the party and binding it for 5s I'd be reducing the overall dmg received and buying some extra time to heal.
So one could also use the skill as extra mitigation if the tank has too much on their back.

Also, if the tank has angeraggro management issues, you can't expect the healer not to use Fluid Aura to push the add away

When I use Fluid for DPS on 4m, I tend to point it at a wall as to not disturb the melee DPS which quite frankly are the only ones who have a legitimate reason to complain here.
If a tank has aggro problems over a single Fluid Aura use then... I needn't say anything else as you can take an intelligent conclusion about this...

    Funny thing about fluid aura,

You can bounce the adds into the tethers during the platforms setup phase on the 2nd boss of syrus tower when the tanks don't do their job and let the adds roam free,
    most likely preventing a wipe.
Did it a few times myself.

I am a WHM, and I totally agree with this. I only use the skill in solo play, never in groups.

I main tanks but have a level 50 whm and honestly it's a situational skill. There are good uses for it. As whm I've used it to get mobs off me that the tank doesn't have hate on; I've used it for those hard to move little balloon enemies to push them AT the tank...well, that's pretty much it.

When I'm tanking and have hate on everything it does aggravate me when a whm or MCH uses the knock back and bind. Does it ruin my run? Nah, I'm a tank, we have to be adaptable to our party's tactics or we're not doing the job right.

I love Fluid Aura-ing the bombs in A2 back to the raid after the gobwalkers pull them away!
