It's so rare that I use it, I find it really only handy in the cases where there's a mob on me and the tank doesn't notice. I'll use it to shove it back over to the tank. I have it on my secondary cross bar so it's pretty hard for me to accidentally use it.

okok and sometimes i just suffer from the fat finger syndrom (in short FFS) as fluid aura is right next to my holy <.<.
Lol FFS does not stand for fat finger syndome, just FYI. It stands for "for f***s sake" lol. Anyway I agree with the OP. As a WHM I really never use Fluid Aura in groups. It's just annoying to people and unnecessary. If you get a mob on you, just do what everyone else does and keep yourself healed while running it back to the tank.

There's nothing wrong with Fluid Auraing for the KO during trash, never mind using it on knockback-immune bosses for the free DPS. However, there's plenty of wrong with using it casually mid-trash (and the same applies for MCHs with Blank - even more so...)

Wasn't Ok in WoW years ago it's not OK now for the same reason. Plus if your doing the DPS part way wrong if you take the time to run UP to the thing only to cast something weaker than stone 1!

I am a WHM and i rarely or not use it at all only sometimes when its a boss just for that 1 free dps since it doesn't pushes bosses away.

I do have this moments when I play as a tank or dps that the whm suddenly uses fluid aura and pushes the mob away from you for no reason than i am like why do you cast fluid aura you didn't even had agro or was in any danger at all

I actually dont mind people pushing back mobs. I sometimes don't see a cast coming and if they did that for the sake of inerruption, i applaud that. As for mch, it adds bind to enemies. I just ignore that target and thank him as it's extra mitigation for an enemy not able to attack... Unless of course if they're ranged. Outside of those scenarios, I'll just shrug it off.

This is how I use it. Free dmg when the enemy is on the verge of dying. It also helps greatly to find out which enemies are immune to the knockback, usually colossus and other large enemies, as well as practically every boss. Sometimes it's also useful to cast it on a ranged enemy like a mage/archer or elemental just to bunch it up with the rest of the mobs the tank is already holding.

Other than those cases, I do have a very short patience for those that use it in a disruptive way when I'm playing mnk or nin

When I play tank it doesnt bother me at all, when I play dps it bothers me if it lowers my dps.

I've learned during leveling to position myself always at the right distance that if a mob gets aggro on me I can fluid aura it straghit to the tank. Generally works great. Outside of that some interrupts and unmovable ones.

Generally speaking, Fluid Aura's actually really valueable. It's a 150 potency attack with a 30s cooldown that doesn't cost us our GCD or a point of MP. I know several White Mages - myself included - who use it regularly because a lot of things are immune to Knockback, which means it's just bonus damage, and hey - if we have the opportunity, free damage, faster fights, bam. Someone else also mentioned its capacity to be used as an Interrupt in certain content or for personal safety/returning a wayward mob to the tank.

That said, on occasion we might slip up and not realise something isn't immune to Knockback, because there's a really random selection of enemies that aren't immune to Knockback... and unfortunately whatever rule you try to come up with to list things that are 'safe' to do it on, there's exceptions - including a large number of bosses. For some reason.

Please forgive WHMs who end up knocking your targets away once in a dungeon by accident. If they keep doing it repeatedly to enemies, then sure, get on their case - but seriously trying to keep track of fourty different dungeons worth of "okay but what is safe to Fluid Aura and what isn't" is a little beyond reasonable expectation.
