Cannot mount/dismount companion

I'm a 1.0 legacy player. I have completed the quest's already to obtain a chocobo in 1.0 and i have the legacy chocobo. However i do not have a company chocobo listed in my mounts at all. I'm very frustrated with this issue atm as i've searched every possible combination of this issue and found only one thread and it does not provide a solution. Because of this drama i'm unable to mount/dismount my companion and have to withdraw and mount, then dismount and re-summon every time. It's not so much the gysahl greens usage as its the redudency. Please fix this bug its driving me nuts.

Talk to a calamity salvager to reclaim your chocobo whistle. Then, you can unlock your company chocobo mount.

I actually find it a good thing that you asked about it here, because it helps spread the solution to the problem to more people. I would not have known the solution if the same question wouldn't have been answered here before. The more people that know how to solve a problem, the better.
