how do you get this dark light gear thing?

You get them from various level 50 dungeons.

Specific level 50 dungeons, so depending on the item you may need to run a different dungeon.

The answer is mostly irrelevant these days. Actual Darklight gear used to be some of the first gear you could get once you hit level 50 that was an upgrade. However, with the proliferation of Tomestones, your job quests now handing you i90 gear, etc... these days it's negligible.

Some players may also refer to some of the new level 60 gear as 'Darklight' or darklight-equivalent on the basis that it fulfills a similar role.

Well he wanted to know where he can get it - perhaps only for glamor - so dissmissing it as irrelevant is a bit harsh.
And I know nobody who refers to lvl 60 gear as "Darklight"
