It's still quite difficult to miss anything with the Mage LB since it follows the same rules as other placed AoE strikes (if the target is touching the telegraph at the moment right before the cast completes, it will be hit even if it has moved out of the animation). It's disappointing if the ranged LB is in fact the weakest of the three, but I don't have numbers to prove or disprove that.

I use ranged LB only when melees dont care or forget about their lb... so its almost always.

I can say without a doubt that in dungeons, it's much harder to use LB on trash mobs because they have a tendency to clump up on the tank then spread. Ranged LB1 is incredibly narrow.

Which is silly. If you want to run through the place faster, the LB should be used on the adds, especially since you're going to be holding onto the LB for what...80% of the boss fight otherwise? Just use it on the adds before the boss and use a fresh LB1 on the boss, because otherwise you're losing time.

Did a similar test on Ifrit HM awhile back. Our results weren't quite so clean with the numbers. Melee break was ~31k, Caster break was ~18k, and Line break was ~17k. Caster break on 2+ targets is still more damage than Melee, and Line break feels like it has faster results/recovery time than Caster.

I wish brd's would get their healing LB back. I'm sick of seeing them waste a 3 bar LB on a single target to do a whopping 2% of damage.

Floor 3, I've seen the last phase of that fight go down hill fast. As melee I won't LB before 15%, some cases waiting until 10% if people are dying just in case the healers need it. I keep seeing brd's go "you're too slow, so I used it"

Ranged also need to understand melee have a lot more dodging to do. There are times I get ready to lb, then have to dodge aoe. So I dodge, get back into position and hit lb only to find a brd has already used it.

That's why, as a BRD, I don't even bother with LB unless it's specifically asked of me. I did a LB in Aurum Vale a while back b/c the other DPS was dead and it was very underwhelming. At least with the healing LB, there were still specific instances where mass healing would be the better decision over doing damage.

I prefer Range because it hits multiple people in PvP and it works with my Macro.

I can't remember if it was ever confirmed or not, but it feels like it only counts the living party members in damage calculations for LB. I'd like to get a definitive test on it sometime
