    • Point for point, the damage reduction is very weak, and it's completely random whether it does anything when you need it.
    • It only works against physical attacks, it's completely useless vs. magic.
    • It's completely useless if you're playing as an offtank where you're not getting hit much.

    You probably can't do much about #3, but #1 & #2 should be addressed. Parry rating should increase the amount you can parry. With a greater focus on magic attacks, it needs to be useful against them. Change the stat name to something like "deflection" (or i don't know, whatever). This stat should increase your parry rating AND your magic resistance to all elements.

    Then you'd have a stat that was at least useful. Right now it's junk.
    I wouldn't mind it so much if FFXIV had a system to "reforge" stats into other stats.

    Turning all this useless parry into critical hit rate for example.

    When I said Parry was useless, I never meant parries themselves. Base Parry and the 20% Parry Potency is fine. Just the stat itself, the base is fine without the stat - period.

    Parry (the stat) is a bad piece of garbage that needs fixed/changed

    Strength should affect both parry/parry potency...
