    DX11 possible fix for crasshing

ok so before i start 3 rlly important things:

    - my english is bs im from chile english is not my first lenguange but i do my best
    - this is what worked for me so possibly dont work for you so read carefully
    - this could DAMAGE your GPU so be careful im not responsable for any damage made to your hardware

ok so with that out of the way lets start.

in my case my dx11 client was crashing to black screen at any moment or any place in game (didnt have to do with the amount of graphic load that the gpu had) and the sound still going but i could not see anything so i was force to close the game and also this error.

so this happen when ur gpu doesnt have the amount of energy going in the gpu it self and there is a lot of reasons why this happen.

    how to fix it:
you have to give more VOLTAGE to your GPU (overclock it)
this is going to rise you gpu temperature so be aware of it.
this can burn your graphics card and kill it pretty much.

you need a gps performance upgrade software like "MSI afterburner" i use this one my self so i can recomend it but also you can use EVGA's "Precision" utility.

what you have to do is augment the core voltage of the GPU but most people in the forums(gforce) agree that you should NOT exceed 1.15v.

the safe way to do this is go one point at a time(i went to 10 and it got stable and i play for around 10hrs+ with no crash pictureof my settings under this).

you go one voltage up in the core voltage(for example, 1.038v -> 1.050v thats for EVGA's "Precision" utility or 2 points in MSI afterburner) play a little till you crash, if youu crash, you do it again augment the voltage and play till you crash or is stable.

    DO NOT exceed 1.15v

i hope that this help you fix it and plz be careful

This is absolutely not recommended. Every video card manufacturer has different tolerances to overclocking, and specific card brands (eg MSI) are known to factory overclock their cards to cheat synthetic benchmarks, but the cards have much shorter life spans if operated in this manner.

I'd hazard to guess that anyone who is having DX11 crashes that don't get the crashes in any other games are in the "my GPU is actually overclocked" camp. The trademark of this is how the games are crashing. When crashing on zoning, this is putting a lot of memory-transfer stress on the video card, so it's likely the memory on the card failing.

You can try a specific stress test here:

You can test the tesselation, memory and rendering units with it. If it crashes under those stress tests, your card defective.

well ya overclock is always something that can damage ur hardware im not trying to hide that fact i say a lot of times that u should be careful with this but stips the dx11 crashes and not only on FFXIV.

is not about the memory load that the card is using when it crash, i had the same crash with : crysis 2 (dx11 patch ultra settings), warframe, and witcher 2.
bur i never had problems with witcher 3, crysis 3 (ultra settings) or metro redux last light, games that rlly load ur gpu.

and TBH im just trying to help this metod fix my crashes and a fc member crashes. if u think that is to dangerous dont do it is that easy but here is an option that can finaly let you play with no random crashes everywhere or might not work eather but it worth the try.

Hello, I'm having the same exact issue as you with only the DX11 client -- is this the only way to fix the problem? I tend to get the black screen at around 1-2 hours of playing, not sure if that matters.

i try all the possible solutions that i found.

clean install, diferent nvidia drivers, LOD off and onn, pre-render frames to 1, gpu on maximun performance, etc.

this completely fix it for me, since i did it i havent got a single dx11 crash so it rlly work for me but i cannot say that it will work for you but i try and it work perfect
