Is Eye for an Eye worth it? / Virus macro?

I'm at 57 WHM and just remembered this cross ability. My Arcanist is only at 15 as I hate playin git and dread the thought of bringing it to 34 just to get this, but will if it's useful as it sounds pretty cool. Just thought I'd check though to see if it's still worth it? Second part of my question, I use Virus all the time, but I see some people have a Macro saying "VIRUS up on XYZ!" is that really necessary or helpful to anyone?

... I love Eye for an Eye. Then again I've mained SCH since release and love debuffing so I am biased perhaps?

    I however find it AWESOME.

I marco it with stoneskin where I can cast it then casts stoneskin while it's on cd with eye for an eye icon. It's great for saving hot bar space on the ps4 controller and for getting the tank ready for taking a big hit.

    ./micon "Eye for an eye"
    ./ac "Eye for an eye"
    ./ac "Stoneskin"

I love Eye for an Eye. When you tank pulls big and has like 10+ mobs on him, hit him up with E4E and as they hit him they have a chnace at gain -10% damage. What makes it better is as they keep hitting it has the possibility of keep resetting the debuff. It's not necessary or mandatory but definitely worth it when you don't have to spam Cure II when they pull to large.

Edit: a virus macro announcing you casted virus isn't "necessary" but it is helpful when running with other virusers so they don't accidently virus something that has antibody on them because of your previous virus cast.

Eye for an Eye is useful. It's a bit RNG based so when you do use it, you want to give your boss enough leeway to punch your tank enough to get the debuff applied, so it's a bit counter intuitive too. However, I do recommend it is 10% less damage being done by the boss for 20 seconds.

Also, a no brainier when your tanks are pulling a million mobs at once.

As for Virus announcement macros, I do use it because I feel it's important to let the party know when something is being mitigated. This may let tanks hold onto cooldowns or encourage your co-healer to heal a bit less to save some MP. Of course they have to be paying attention to the chat too.

I understand that leveling ACN from 1-30 is torture, but e4e at 34 is very worth it.

E4E is amazing especially in speed runs because it will stack gloriously with the tank's mitigation abilities.

    It is totally worth it.

As for Virus macro, the only Virus macro I have is one that lets the other Virus-users know that I used it and to hold off on theirs until Antibody wears off.

I can't stress enough how amazing this skill is and probably one of the most under-utilized.

20% chance to proc on physical damage and mitigates against all damage both physical and magical. It's a 20% chance to proc but that includes every autoattack. I have never seen this skill NOT proc when placed on the MT (except Bahamut because his autoattacks are so slow). It can also proc multiple times giving you up to 50 seconds of damage reduction.

I would not take a whm or blm in my static without this skill. It has helped so much with every kind of scenario, including solo heal t12, solo heal t13 and Ravana ex solo heal challenges. It is just that powerful.

It doesn't have the same "How could I have played without this" feeling as Swiftcast, but it's a super powerful and useful ability that you'll really love having around.

it's really awesome when the tank is making a big pull. the more enemys are on the tank, the better is the skill. it's not thaaat great in boss fights but still nice to have.

and don't make the mistake to think it's a shield. it is not. how often have i seen people using e4e on a person that takes a big hit to "cover" them >.> only use it on the tank.
