Why can't we blacklist people cross server?

I don't run into bad people in the DF very often but (Holy) today I met two really obnoxious laggy DPS who were being jerks. One got mad at me because I pointed out wiping isn't fun and the other waited the entire time for the final loot drop so I had to wait the entire time and then left as soon as I got my shield. They pretended to be afk and whatnot just to bother me. I reported them as you might guess. Later on I got the EXACT SAME PEOPLE, totally fine. I left because f this and got hit with a 30 min DF ban while they got a free run. Why can't we blacklist these people? It's dumb having to run into the same trolls over and over in df.

Because how the hell would that work? the DF is random match ups. I'm always shocked when I see anyone form my own server that isn't in my party (Got back in touch with an old comrade from my 1st FC that way by sheer chance) so how on earth (or Hydaelyn rather) would they go about altering the DF's match ups or even keep track of it? If you got a problem with those guys so bad you can't even stand being in the same instance as them then the 30 Minute Penalty should have been worth not having to do a dungeon with them.

You can Bail and Eat the Penalty to avoid people you don't like or you can put your dislike aside long enough to get business done. There really isn't any way to have both.

You can't blacklist cross server because many people share the same name on different servers

Your blacklist doesn't follow you into the instance servers, which is why if you have someone blacklisted who happens to be in a link-shell you are also in you will get all their messages unfiltered while in a dungeon or a trial if they happen to be talking at the time.

I assume this is the main reason because it doesn't come with you there is no built-in way to update it to add players from within the instance.

Other games can do it. Must be magic?
    Why such a fanboy response?

Not OPs job to give code and concept on how they implement it, but without doubt it's possible, other games do it.

Uh, I was asking a legit question. How would you even be able to implement this when characters across diffrent servers can share the same name, how would it work when the DF program bypasses the Black List anyway?

And more importently, why be such an ass? That was a rather rude responce that had no relevence or solution. Just because one mmo can do it is irrelevent because THIS mmo isnt THAT one. Tge Servers, Programing, and rules are all diffrent

So using your name as an example, the dungeon list would say Chris Magnus-Balmung while a player on my server would be listed as Chris Magnus-Mateus. Someone blacklisting one wouldn't blacklist the other.

Another nice feature in WoW is that if you do block someone on another server it takes that in to consideration and the group finder makes sure you're never grouped with them again. TERA, WOW, and Swtor all have a similar system and it's one that definitely needs to be implemented in this game.

Sure you can if the system factors their server in to account.

You are right about the tone, sorry about that.

These quirks in the current DF system are imo not excuses to not think about/reqeust those or other features that should just be there in a state of the art mmo.

After all it's a matter of putting time and effort into this change and that may be why it is most likely not happening, but the question if its possible is clearly yes.

Sorry again must have been in a bad mood :-/

    .
Dude, that is cool as shit. I had no idea other games went that far. Now I wonder why they didn't opt for something like that when it would have been relatively simple to add to the code from the start where as adding it later would prove to be a total pain.

And no worries Spoekes. After rereading my original post, it did kinda come across as belittling. Limitations of Text vs Tone. Hard to interpret intent with no speech.
