    I'm a tank. I don't drop groups. I make them kick me.

    1. Repeated wipes because healer is in cleric stance. Wanna dps? Super. Have a comm. Let me die bc of it. No tip for you.
    2. Repeatedly asking the pair of machinists not you punt enemies and being told not because they want to play ping pong. Hated these guys.
    3. Dps repeatedly initiating pulls and then arguing when I ask them to stop. If I'm not chain pulling there is a reason.

"What makes you drop a group?" Group members being too picky when everything is going fine, or group members being excessively hostile.

Example of the first: I was healing a Qarn HM on my WHM before the expansion dropped, with a tank whose exact job I can't remember and two black mages. They started to complain about me not using holy enough when I was already low on mana from trying to keep them alive, so I cut my losses and left.

Example of the second: I decided to tank again for the first time since before heavensward dropped, so I queued up for AV to get some practice in. Maybe not the best choice, but I figured it would kick me into shape and I already spent my leveling roulette finishing BLM. First two healers drop, but I stick it out and wait for one to stay.

Problem is, the third healer decides they want massive pulls and keeps insisting on big pulls in the first room of AV. It's not exactly the best environment for that. While it's very possible to do for an experienced group, I was still trying to get a handle on tanking again. The healer demands I pull more, so I do. I go down from a lack of healing spells and then get berated as the group wipes.

I just said "bye" and ate the penalty. I wasn't going to do AV with a healer who more than likely would have continued to make my life miserable for the entire run. Went full strength and proceeded to go smash FATES and gain two levels, more progress than I've made in a single day in a while now.

These are rare instances, of course. I generally heal the majority of my roulette content with the exception of an odd leveling roulette for one of my dps jobs here or there, and I can count the number of times I've left a group like that qarn on one hand. I can certainly understand why tank queues are so quick, though. I'll stick to healing, things seem to work out much better that way.

When people can't follow simple instructions despite being told multiple times. Had a Levi EX group a while ago who didn't switch to the adds even when the tanks told them repeatedly that the adds needed to go down. As a result, we wiped multiple times due to the elemental converter being depleted by the spumes.

After it happened for the third time, I was done.

    When I'm kicked.
It annoys me so much I leave immediately.

When you fail 3 times in a row because not one single dps used the LB.

I've left exactly one time as a DPS and that was because I felt bad for vote kicking a friend that was dc'd too long, and she came back online right after the kick.

I've left once as a tank because of people pulling/running ahead of me, and causing a mess on each pull.

I don't leave groups but I also do not deal with the "special" or "entitled". So I use my kick button every 4 hours and I will kick people for the following reasons really :

    1) afk
    2) can't play their class/job
    3) complaining about everything (Speed runs, no speed runs, heals, no heals, etc)
    4) trying to skip every mechanic and wasting my time with unnecessary wipes
    5) people that mouth off in groups and have no idea how to play the game

Then after I kicked that person I will leave as well. But I do not take the penalty of 30 minutes.

When you're in Alex or BisEX and you notice that one same ranged class throwing out pathetic amounts of DPS...I'm sorry, you're the reason we're failing the check, and if you're not even going to try after 3 failures, then there's no point in me even attempting to continue.

I normally dont like to drop groups except for a few instances:

Did Neverreap a few days ago, pulled first trash group. Healer was in Cleric stance and was only DPSing, I died, he rezzed me, but dont heal me after I provoked mobs off him and he continues to DPS. I respawned and just left, not worth it.

And occasionally when duty finder puts me in those really bad trials like Steps of Faith and The Chrysalis, I don't normally leave right away. But if someone else leaves, i leave as well since I won't get hit by the penalty and just requeue for another Roulette.

Other than that I normally don't leave dungeons unless I know that we can't beat it due to extremely low DPS, like this "Fractal Continuum" run I had the other day with 3 newbies, all of them in white gear. Took an hour to get to final boss and even then we couldnt down it since they were hitting all the mines and couldn't kill the adds in time. After like 3 or 4 wipes we just vote abandoned.

Tanking is a job, DPSing is a science and Healing is an art.
If the Tank dies, it's the Healer's fault. If the Healer dies, it's the Tank's fault. If the DPS dies, it's their own damn fault.

When I say I'm new to tanking, ask for patience/directions, but instead get an AST run ahead and start dotting mob packs one after the other without saying anything.
