No, frankly it's plain obvious that the OP is giving his input as a new player if you just stopped and read his posts, and the lot of you are just unfortunately acting like obnoxious assess. Something like this will uneventfully happen on almost any other forum but here. This community really needs to be able to handle some criticism, or you'll be your own undoing.
The OP isn't doing anything out of the ordinary, people just need to learn to argue/explain and discuss. Someone thinks something you like isn't good, don't throw a hissy fit like some creature that has just learned to type words. Explain your viewpoint, if it's a new player, even more reason. But no, the community here is out to attack him and brand him as a troll rather than accept that someone could possibly have negative views towards something in their loved game. You guys are so full of yourselves.

You missed my point. It's not that he thinks what I like isn't good. it's that he thinks that everything he doesn't like should be deleted. If you actually read the posts that disagreed with him, that is what they are talking about.

Yes, he gave his input. And his input was that since those things are useless to him, they should be deleted.

Who is the one full of themselves? The one that thinks that everything they don't like should be removed or the one that disagreed with him?

There is nothing wrong with how the OP present himself. There is only an issue regarding the community being overly touchy and juvenile.
Thread title is: "Observations from a New Player". Doesn't even matter what comes after that, the context of him being new is established. If there are things that don't make sense to him and don't seem to serve any other purpose there is nothing wrong with suggesting to remove said feature. It's up to the participants here to explain and demonstrate why it isn't so. Very normal conduct anywhere else, but here the discussion deteriorates into petty quips like quit the game and "OP is a troll".

This is all opinion and presented under the impressions of a new player. If someone manages to take offense to this or thinks this is presented arrogantly, then these people need to learn how to deal with normal discussion and forum conduct.

No. If someone's gonna go post a rather extreme suggestion to outright remove content from the game, they better be prepared to receive some "extreme" feedback from others. And being a new player doesn't excuse him from that.

I mean, just look at this crap: "- Linkshells: I do not know what these are for. I have my friends list and my FC. Why do I need a linkshell?"

That's pretty much saying "I don't know what ____ is for, and I don't use one anyway, so I suggest removing them from the game!"

What am I supposed to see here that justifies "extreme feedback"? All I see in this thread is a bunch of insecure man children unable to handle discussion or criticism and it makes me upset.

The other day a new player in my guild asked what to do with his full inventory, it was explained to him that he needed to stash his stuff into the inventory of his retainers. He though it was stupid and it was much more logical to stash it into the chest in his room and was a feature that should be removed.
We were instantly able to agree that it was indeed bad and unintuitive design. The game isn't perfect. People have to realize this.

Uh no. Childish is suggesting content get removed out of ignorance regarding it's use. Yes, he asked what they were for: several posts later after making a first post suggestion that they be outright removed from the game.

"I don't use this and I don't know what it's for, so therefore the game is shouldn't have them." is childish, ignorant, and selfish. You act as if only the game or the people responding to this thread should be able to handle criticism, while completely dismissing the idea that perhaps maybe it's the OP that should be able to handle it as well. OP has every right to post criticism and feedback on the forums, just as much as we have every right to criticize his ideas.

And suggesting that they remove content the OP doesn't use that other people may enjoy qualifies as an extreme suggestion.
