YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY YAY YAY YAAAAAY!
After inheriting an FC several months back, I can finally change the name to something better without sacrificing our FC house and all those points.

Just cause you think it sounds better in your head doesn't mean it will be necessarily better in RL. It is hard coming up with a FC name that other people would be able to relate to the same as you.
as long as it's not a free option, I'll be fine with.
Why would the company master want to change it to something that'll get their company regarded as "bad" as you put it? Although I don't see how a paywall would prevent this, rather making it so it can only be changed every 6 or so months, and need the approval of at least 60% of the members.
Player "Bad Guy" is in Free Company "Normal." Bad Guy does things that piss people off - shouts insults in Mor Dhona, blatantly bots, pulls hunts early, steals from other FC members, and yet somehow never manages to get banned. The FC Normal earns a reputation as being full of jerks like Bad Guy, since they haven't kicked him yet. Tired of everyone calling them a bad FC, Normal changes over to something else and finally kicks Bad Guy.Why would the company master want to change it to something that'll get their company regarded as "bad" as you put it? Bad Guy's actions, however, rubbed off on the rest of the FC, and there are now a bunch of Bad Guy clones running around doing all his bad stuff, recruiting new players and then stealing from them. FC changes names again. And again.
If the core group of an FC is rotten, then they can repeatedly name change and try to pretend they've reformed - then invite new people and continue the abuse. Previously they'd have to lose their houses if they wanted a name change that badly.
I think limiting it to once every 6 months should be okay.
People who steal guilds could easily change name and FC name... and of course this would be abused over and over
How do you "steal" a Free Company? If you mean transfers to the highest ranking Officer after the Master has been offline for 30 days, that's not stealing. If you're planning on taking a break, give it to an Officer you trust.
It will likely require fc points. I doubt it will be free.
