Must cooking ingame be harder than in real life?

I mean really, I do many of those dishes in real life and they stress me less than ingame.

I'm guessing then that your Chef's Coat and Chef's Cap offer more Craftsmanship, Control, and CP than that found by the gear you're wearing in game ...

Personally, I find that it is almost harder finding the ingredients/materials for any given crafting recipe (Culinary or any other) than it is to actually craft anything.

I find cooking to be specially annoying to get the materials, more so than other crafting recipes.

Nothing has changed since XI. Atleast here you can actually farm them. In XI you had to wait weeks to get em from gardening.

The mats are easy to get if you have a btn. Seafood is the only challenging part

The smell of cooking encourages and motivates you biologically, all cooking in-game does is 'motivate' you depending on the degree of interest you have in what you intend to use the item for.

Culinarian is by far the hardest to level up IMO. In all the other classes, there are lots of cross class mats required, which gives you experience on the other craft while working on the turn ins. Culinarian has zero cross class crafting interaction. In addition, the requirements for the leves are ridiculous. I just looked at level 54 leves and one of them is a level 57 recipe (I've not seen any other class ask for that high an item) and one of them required a mat that is only available from blue scrips. sigh

This is true I wonder if it's an error. I'm just going to continue to use the lower level. All you have to do keep certain mats on hand, no making mats from other classes and then switching back. Gather with your BTN and then you level up Cul easy. I'm doing that now. The other crafters are pain for me right now with the increase in mats.

How does that not make CUL the easiest instead?

Know why I've basically given up on weaving? Because I only started playing the game again 3 weeks ago and only managed to get weaving/btn to 50 in the midst of the 1000 2.0-2.55 quests. So not only did I have to deal with the garbage difficulty jump from 50-51 because the game assumed I was full melded in 4 star or whatever gear, but I can't make crap in HW because with the amount of alchemy stuff I need for 90% of the HW crafts they might as well be alchemy recipies. And alchemists know this, which is why a grade 1 mind still goes for 80k and holy water still is over 20k.

So I leveled from 50-58 just making rainbow cloth and ramie cloth right off the bat (making a bit of good money as I was leveling my BTN at the same time), and have been GC turn ins of vendor bought items since (will probably hit 60 tomorrow).

Once my DRG hits 60 I'll probably make a push to get alch/arm/min to 60, but I'll probably wait and see if red scripts actually give anything actually worthwhile. Because right now knowing that anything I can make you can get from a quest or a vendor, and the best you can make as a weaver can't even be brought into Alex makes me feel like the whole things just a huge waste of time.
