Lightbulb Ravana EX, Cover, double prey

Just had an idea about double preys...

I believe it's common knowledge that PLD can "cheat" the double prey Physical Vulnerability Up debuff inflicted by the 1st hit of the double Prey on Ravana Ex with Hollowed Ground, therefore being able to solo-handle both hits of the prey without having to grab or pass it to another party member.

Would it be possible for, say, have the PLD and OT (or whomever other has the prey mark) to stand near each other, PLD uses HG and covers other person marked with prey... Would that avoid both Phys Vuln debuffs?

Then PLD and other person runs opposite directions just to avoid being hit twice for that huge AoE that follows the debuff (which has not been applied to neither target due to HG and cover)

I know it's possible to do something similar in Titan Ex, if you are a PLD OT and cover MT before Mountain Buster, you get the vulnerability stack instead of MT, and MT's stacks fall off when its timer reaches 0, which should be just after the mountain buster hit.

The only way this would not work is if the first hit that applies the Phys Vuln debuff is magical and is not affected by Cover, which I don't think is the case, but who knows...

I'm gonna try that whenever i get the chance, but if someone has tried that and can share the results, it'd be much appreciated.

    You'd probably die actually.

Considering you'd be standing near the other person, both Final Liberation charges would hit the covered target.

Your HG would fail to protect you from both hits on the covered target so it's possible the first hit gives you debuff and the second hit kills you.

If they are hit at the same time though, you will likely just get the debuff and get hit twice for normal damage. Which still blows

The best way to handle double prey is to never see double prey

Your idea is sound but cover doesn't work that way. You just eat the others person damage.

Groups over complicate double prey. Prey1 goes to A,prey2 goes to C, party stacks on B. When purple goes out tanks take prey to the other side of the map.

don't care, have a healer stay alive and LB3 heal once the inside/outside phase is done to revive the 90% of your team after that phase
    tested an approved XD

I tried that once with my FC and I think it can actually work, I took no damage on the first hit but the second one killed me, applying two stacks. I'm not sure I timed HW correctly back then so if you do right maybe it would work.
It was the first few confusing tries and we just did it normally after that so I can't confirm anything.
