Yup, thats what I was getting at, although it has been reported recently that since MS have changed their policy to allow for cross Xbox and PC play it might have a knock on effect with FFXIV.

This will also never happen because the problem isn't cross platform with the PC. Microsoft is fine with that given most PCs run Windows, also a Microsoft product. The problem is the Playstation. Microsoft refuses to be cross platform with anything other than PC. The only reason XI happened was because Microsoft was desperate for a foothold in the Japanese market at the time (it didn't work, by the way).

Yeah I have read about this some time ago and I was kinda facepalming hard..
They aren't probably confident enough about they XBone to let its owners play with PS owners. (I don't own any console so don't take this as a rant from PS owner please xD)

To be honest I always thought that it is crucial for console to have the highest amount of supported good games.

PS4's can run just as good as some PC's, if not better. However I have to agree with PS3's holding back the game to some extent. My load times on PS3 were absolutely awful and that was with ARR. Of course I'm not saying cut off PS3 players, just it's obvious that sometime, as the game progresses, it's just not going to be able to handle it anymore.

I was on PS3 before going to PS4, and my friend is on PC, and we sometimes play in the same room. I see little difference between the PS4 and PC in terms of, well, everything except load times. I don't think memory or anything like that is an issue on PS4.

On PS3, however, it is. We got Snowcloak as part of a roulette the other day, and the healer was having trouble staying alive because she couldn't see what the boss was doing. And I completely understood, because I was in the exact same position once before. If boss fights with snow effects have massive framerate stutters and lag up simply because of the graphics, I can only imagine what Heavensward must be like.

I tried to find graphics comparison screenshots, and I couldn't. It seems most people (at least, gaming outlets) aren't even acknowledging that the PS3 version exists. It will really stink for PS3 players, but the system won't be able to handle it much longer.

What's funny is that at the default YouTube screen size and resolution settings the differences appear minimal...apart from the PS4 Miqo'te having a larger bust.

I'm on PS3, and that last boss in "The Vault" drops my framerate by a HUGE margin... I'm not even sure how I get my Mudras to function properly during that time lol...

I'll be glad when Square-Enix and Microsoft work out their issues, as I'd like to get this on Xbox One.
