Teir 5 materia

Hey guys/gals I did a search and was unable to find a clear way to acquire tier 5 materia. It seems SB'ing the highest I gear still only yields tier 4 materia. So is the only way to acquire 5 is to turn in 5 tier 4's in hopes of getting a 5?

yes and it seems there is no gear for crafter and gatherer where you can use tier 5 materia. they are all ilvl 150 max and the materia is for 160 and higher...

If I remember correctly, the 3.0 patch notes said that Tier 5 Materia is added, but won't be going into the game until a later patch. I'd guess that'll be around the same time Esoterics come out.

Tier 5 Gatering/Crafting materia can only be adquired with Mutamix via transmutation

it can be obtained through an airship voyage of high tier , of course speculating
probably new recipes will be introduced in future patches for lv 170-160 where DoH will earn bucks

for now try to cap a LTW

I would assume that ilvl160+ gear has a chance to convert to TV, which is just the body pieces for battle jobs currently.

ahh ok, I figured id do what I can to start acquiring tier 5 asap, as Im guessing they are going to be worth quite some gil. Seems ill have to buy up mass tons of tier 4 and start transmutation to get ahead of the curve for our new "relic" weapens as well as another source of income.
