No longer supporting FFXIV

I stayed away from this topic last week, but it hasn't died, so here is my 2 cents...

until they decide to add PlayStation Trophies regarding Heavensward content and future expansions I will not pay anymore subscriptions to this game.

In all honesty, no one cares that you are so peeved that you'll cut of your own nose to spite your face.

It's a shame because I really love the expansion, even more than A Realm Reborn but this is about making a stand and being vocal as a consumer, not being ignored because you're part of the minority.

You think *this* is making a stand? What principle are you quitting over? It's not like trophies exist in the PC or Mac versions, so you're not missing out on anything. Trophies are nothing more than ways to continue the epeen from in-game to an out-of-game context. If you really love the expansion, why are you allowing a non-issue to take you from it, actually, no, you're the one taking yourself from the game. It's not the lack of trophies taking you from the game, it's your own skewed perception of the importance of virtual tick marks on an achievement list.

Do these trophies really give you that much validation that you'll quit things you profess to love because they lack PSN trophies?

Holy crap, I've played PlayStation games since the original PlayStation, and before that on an ancient Atari 2600, and even before that playing monochrome variants of Pong on a crappy little Binatone thing, and never once have I considered quitting a game because it lacked a way for me to publicly brag to friends and associates about how great I thought I was.

First of all sorry you posted your concerns here. The community can become toxic fast as they can only respond in the form of insults or something condescending. Personally I would worry more about that then trophies.

I'm sorry, there are a lot of reasons to call some parts of our community toxic, but this is not one of them. The OP made their post as if it was some matter of great import, taking a principled stand etc... about PSN trophies in a cross platform game that doesn't feature trophies on any other platform at all. They clearly stated that the trophies are more important to them than a game that they actually profess to love. How do you think a general discussion forum of a cross platform game is going to respond to such an expression of self importance and entitlement? I thought they were pretty mild.

I think it's the fact he was ignored after gaining support from other players more so than the actual trophies that has angered him.

As someone above has said though, I imagine PSN would have more input to add additional trophies, not SE.

If you are serious though then that is something else. I don't even wait for the damn trophy thing to load when I accidently go to it when trying to hit something else.
The achievement in the game are way harder than the trophies they would give...go for those instead and post them to your instagram....LOL

All haters aside (I personally like to collect 'extra pointless data' and have many platinums including FFXIV, and also have more than 7k in-game achievements), is there any reason why PSN trophies were not added? This is, like, the only PS3/PS4 $5+ worth DLC without trophies. PS trophies were mandatory to be added by developers to all games since 2009.
But maybe there are exceptions for MMOs, FFXI does the same thing, there are X360 achievements only for 'Wings of the Goddess' and all other expansions are ignored.
