Correct, so we now know:
Unlock a Job at R30 via quest.
Job Level = Class Level
EXP is shared between the two, essentially meaning it is still the same class but containing Job Perks
To gain job specific abilities/and gear, you will have to complete a quest every 5 levels, starting at Level 30.

yes, i hope they scale the difficulty to the level of your character, but i doubt it will happen. i do agree to do the quest to get the abilities and gear you will more than likely have to be on the job that it is for like getting your guild marks.I would expect you to have to be on the Job while doing those quests. Now, bear in mind the jobs are not meant to be successful in solo play.
I imagine the quest tasks being more about completing certain objectives on the job, rather than a simple fight. If it becomes more like that then the quests will be much more interesting than a simple 'rip through it on your lv50' endeavor.
Examples:
Paladin: Survive for X minutes.
WHM: Keep an ally alive for Y minutes.
Another possibility is having the quest difficulty scale based on the actual level of the player entering.
yes, to the extent things have been explained you are completely correct.Correct, so we now know:

Yeah, I just wanted to put it in the most basic of terms. Though I know it's a pointless effort and will still be argued.

oh boy isn't that for sure. since you gave a simple post did you make sure that everything was spelled correctly and all letters capital where they should be? if not they go into grammar police when they have no other argument to fall back on.

no that was commented on be a dev back before even 1.18 was released. the rank for the class will be the rank for the job.EXP is shared may mean something different .. as in you have lvl 50 GLA, and lvl 1 PLD ... when you kill mobs as a lvl 50 GLA and earn XP, you will earn that XP for your PLD. Meaning you still have to relvl PLD, but you just got kicked in the groin for lvling it before original Jobs came out. SE does like to make things a grind to extend life.

Case and point. Dah well. It's why I don't post on theory threads often.
classes: a wide collection of skills stemming from leveling at using a specific weapon.
When playing a class you may choose skills from other classes to either play a new creation of your own design or something with versatility.
Jobs: niche predefined playstyles. Cross class skills will be limited, and new skills will become available by completing a quest every five levels after opening the job (starting at 30)
choose a class you want to play. lets say you have a 40 GLA and want to play as a tank. You switch to sword and shield. On top of that you now set yourself to PLD because you have earned it and 2 pld specific skills to aid you in tanking.
you are now a 40GLA playing in your PLD niche role. You wont be able to cross class as much stuff, but you now have added benefits such as the skills you quested. When you earn exp this way it just goes to your class, as jobs arent leveled, but are enhanced this new way.
^ that is how I read everything and what it is sounding like.

perhaps someone can clarify exactly what'll happen to the following then...
R50 archer
R50 conjurer
R50 gladiator
R50 shield.
cause im sorry, if we have to go through quests and other stuff to RE-unlock the "potential" thats pretty much bull. i mean people have already put the time and effort into leveling classes to R50 and shouldnt have to do quests so they arent gimped because SE decided in thier high and mighty limo's that they want to be idiots AGAIN.
