Heavensward fates

I am told doing a fate in Heavensward gets you 18k per and a fate in N. thalaran gets you 21k and is shorter.

I would assume this is working as intended but i fail to see the purpose here. Can anyone explain me why HW fates are bad?

FATEs in NT only net you 14k, not 21k. There are only two FATEs in NT that give you 21k, and they are both very long spawn/rare.

FATEing in general is not a good way to grind (and SE has been trying to disincentivize it for years, hence why the numbers are low). The new HW dungeons are by far the best and fastest way to level. FATEs, Levequests, and Hunts are what you do in the meantime while waiting for your queue to pop.
