I'm using GTX 970 and zero crash appears on mine. Perhaps your driver need to update?

My GTX 770 has crashed once, I think, on DX11. I do have an issue where occasionally my UI will stop responding, but that happened on DX9 and it only happens when I'm in the other monitor too long.

if you're on windows 7, and has directx 11.0, try update to directx 11.1

ffxiv used to get stuck at loading screen, while using teleport / joining duty finder / changing area / joining duty finder, but these problems stop after updating to directx 11.1 (at least for 3 days now)

Having the same card and driver matters little when motherboard and bios configuration can matter as well.

There are various things you could possibly try. Like ensuring that the frequencies for PCI-express don't get any auto-tuning in UEFI/BIOS... Trying to set it to PCI-express 2.0 instead of 3.0... etc.

And that's aside from making sure you're running the latest drivers. If you're using HDMI or DP to the monitor, try with DVI instead...

It is most likely a combination of hardware configuration and possibly driver issues that is causing the crashes, and ffxiv dx11 is just happening to be the only software on your computer that actually expose the issues that lead to the crashes.

Different games are optimized differently and ff doesn't use any of the engines that are normally popular with game makers.

    Double check the wife's drivers.
Which driver version are you using?

GTX 970 here, no crashes. Use DX11 exclusively.

Is her driver up to date? What Windows version? Any other programs running? How is the cooling for her CPU and GPU? Do you have a monitoring program to check temps?

Also, why should SE abandon one group of people to help another? Pretty selfish request imo.
