All my crafting was done simply by crafting to HQ and triple turn in leve's. I'd encourage you to get Weaver to 50 simply because they have most of the crafting gear to 50. It kind of flips between Weaver and Leather after that but having gear improves the experience many fold. I came in to 2.0 with 50 Weaver and made it a priority to have full HQ gear all the time. Leveling all classes in 5 level increments, sharing the gear. You have the two classes that make the tools. Bsm and Crp. So you are solid on that.
It's really simply a matter of doing it.
50-60? Complete the storyline to 60, get flight, prep for gathering. Crafting is buried behind everything else in heavensward.

thanks but hq is a little hard unless you had the right mats and friends so its tricky for me so I had nobody help on crafting hq on weaver or leatherer so that's why I asked
You do not need to meld Materia to your gear, but you do want to keep it up to date and HQ.
As long as you've got that covered, and all the level 15 cross class skills, you should have little trouble HQ'ing 70 and 80 durability recipes. The 40 durability recipes will be difficult until you severely outgear them, however. That's from entirely NQ materials, too.
My HQ ratio wasn't super high. I'd say maybe 25%? But I always filled the quality bar as far as I could. The amount of quality you add while crafting adds exper to every craft, parts included. I crafted everything myself and gathered too. I knew roughly how many of something I needed to get a triple turn in leve and I simply pounded out parts until I had that many stacked, HQ. I knew in advance what the triple turn in was for say level 25 and I started crafting the parts at 24. for 3 levels in a 5 level group you only need two or three leve points using HQ triple turn in's to clear the level.
My biggest bane to crafting was the damn shard grind. I was eating a lot of shards and I hated gathering them. I refuse to now. I can gather any number of raw mats in the same amount of time and sell for 10 times what it costs to buy shards. Did a bot gather them? I don't care. That only matters to you in respect to, if you grind out crafting, you will need a lot of shards.

Crafting recipes for the first time gives you extra exp (I know someone in my fc that is leveling purely by doing that), levequests, challenge log, GC turn ins, use GC manuals for extra exp, if you are in a FC you can ask for buffs... the way I leveled up my crafters was by doing leves (I would gather the mats by myself), GC turn ins and challenge log when they added it.
Idk about macros as I don't use them for crafting.
Also a good way to exp craft is doing the Ixali beast tribe if you're below 50
Your MIN and BOT retainers can gather shards for you...
my mining retaiiners are 50 but botanist retainer is at 30 also i have got an hunting retainer at 30 as well
