[Warrior] What is your build and why did you choose it?

I don't want this thread to become a b*tchfight over the builds (we have enough of those threads). I just want to know what your build is and why you are going this way.

For me, it is STR and CRIT.
Reason: high burst dmg when it is needed and a high self heal crits (up to 7k atm)

With our limited gear selection almost every WAR will have the same gear/goals unless we get into Melded stuff which is very unpopular right now for some odd reason.

Don't say that. I saw quite a few different builds already in alex yesterday and today but didn't have the chance to ask them directly.

Prior to expac and lv60 gear, my war had 600 crit.. Now it has like 600 parry and skill speed >.>

There can't really be different builds at this point, it's a race to 190. There only one set of 170, 180, 190 gear, not multiple sets of equivalent gear to interchange or optimize.

I'm currently still wearing melded i110 accessories because I respect the idea of balance over sacrificing ridiculous amounts of survivability or damage to make the other one ever so slightly higher. They provide 39 "main stat" points per accessory which will beat out any non-crafted gear I can wear until I can get a full i190 right side. My raid group's resident crafter is nearly a level 60 Goldsmith though and he's planning on hooking me up with i150 accessories because they're apparently dirt cheap to make and Grade IV materia prices are in the toilet on my server. Win win, I'd say.

Regarding secondaries, they're literally whatever is on my gear right now. We don't yet have the luxury of significant choice in our stats as there is only one highest item level set at the moment.

Regarding why the crafted accessories aren't popular, I can think of a few reasons why this is the case:

    1. Hope that i160+ crafted accessories are released alongside Alex Savage.
    2. High stat caps require copious Grade IV melds. Shudder.
    3. A general belief that crafted gear is no longer viable due to how far behind the currently obtainable pieces(item level wise) are behind the highest raid-tier rewards.

The i180 and i190 stuff doesn't scale high enough to shut out Hybrids.

My Melded i150s have 31str and 28vit on each one. (59 total main stats) i170s have 33VIT/35STR, i180S have 36, i190s have 40. That trend puts us somewhere in the i220s or higher before they are surpassed.

    155STR
    140VIT

Anything besides going full STR at this point is a bit of a waste, however in savage that most likely won't be the case. Hybrids or full VIT builds will become more popular in savage. I'd probably recommend hybrids or VIT in DF groups as well. Also keep in mind that it takes roughly 8-9 of any secondary to equal STR, with the exception of SS until you get 9 GCD zerk and accuracy. With that said everyone is pretty much going to have the same gear set.

Um, I was stating that i190 stuff would shut out i110 Hybrids. But I can see how that sentence was confusing. I gave it a small edit to specify non-crafted gear. So regular i190 accessories definitely won't shut out i150 Hybrids. I would peg i240 or i250 as matching i150 Hybrids.

Also, not Man Mode(tm) enough to get that 29th point of VIT on the accessories?

Actually I skimped even more then I remember. I have 24vit (VIT4x3) per accessory and I put extra ACC on each one.

Initially I was too unsure of what the stats even did being a relatively new player..... I've only made Warrior and Dark Knight builds thus far but I'm pretty sure the builds will be the same.

Strength Heavy Warrior to the MAX as I already have a veritable bucket load of HP something in the region of 8.7K without Thrill of Battle, 10.8K with Thrill and no other defensive buffs. Having more damage at this point seems more or less like the only real choice.

Same goes for Dark Knight though I'm likely to make more of an investment in Piety, which as I understand it buffs total MP, and with more MP mean longer Darkside and more upper tier spell wiggle room.
