Lightbulb Bubble text for players, at least for Macros

    Hello everyone

Long time ago many players asked for the bubbles text to be added, similar to GW2, and many refused as well. I come again to ask for it to be used for macros, at least it will save the chat log from macro spammers in dungeons and raids, and also it will be easier for healers to notice the warrior macro for Pacification for example, or easy for bard to notice healers when they do their macros asking for Ballad. And it will be nice to match the NPCs with their bubbles.

I think it will be nice to have it optional so only people who want it can toggle it on.

    Good Luck.

This is a good idea in theory, but in practice I don't see it really being useful D: I'll elaborate:

When I'm healing, my eyes are 1) On HP bars/buffs/debuffs 2) on the ground, looking for the danger zoooooone or on the focus target bar, checking enemy moves, and lastly on the chat log, just incase.

The paci debuff isn't going to last long, and if you've gotta ask for esuna, chances are it's going to wear before it's finished casting.

A bard should be checking MP pools since they are visible, unlike party TP. A bard should be thinking "Well, the boss still has xx% to go, WHM is going through mana like a champ and they are <30%", using their best judgment, they should be tossing up a ballad without being asked D:

Chat bubbles are often short, and fleeting, and one more thing to try and keep track of. Honestly, I think if macros are used/needed, then the noisy chat-log based macros are pretty efficient and easier to read in the heat of the moment as opposed to chat bubbles.

It was a nice idea though, don't get me wrong^^;;, I just think that it wouldn't be as effective as you'd like ;;.

Sorry if my points are not too clear, it's late and I'm tired! lol

    Have a wonderful day!

An interesting idea but when I am healing I don't always have the full team in my field of view. Sometimes people are behind me or off to my sides. Even zoomed out completely, I can lose sight of people in larger arenas. Relying on bubbles over their head to see important chat or macros during a raid would be much more difficult than just glancing at the chat box in the corner of the screen.

There's a Dev response somewhere about this when it was asked in the Beta of 2.0. They said they can't implement such a feature due to PS3 limitations and such. They stated they wouldn't add content to other platforms if it wasn't possible to keep it all identical. :/

I support this. I think it'd be pretty cool to have chat bubbles as an optional way of "voicing" something we might like to say. Apparently, it's not going to happen though because, like KyteStones mentioned, PS3 limitations.

If anything it shouldn't be macro. It should be say or party chat only during combat. If it's urgent enough for someone to type it out in combat, it's likely important enough to not be 'spam'. I just had a nabriales fight that went terrible on the orbs phase and got LB3 early for it and as a tank I was begging the party to LB the adds but I was ignored as the terrible dps failed to DPS the last add on their own.

I agree with the second poster. I'm hardly ever looking at other players in situations where I care if they are using certain buffs/skills. It would also be screen clutter which I'm very much against.

That said, I'm all for it if it's optional. You can never have too many optional features.

Should be optional for PS4 and PC users then, no need to lower product's quality and options because of 5% share of PS3 users, they can just NOT add it to PS3 version
