Ifrit Fight

I'm totally against everyone being beacons of rainbow light in general, but I think these are awesome. They suit the encounter, they have a lot in common with the boss, and I love that they light up when you draw them as opposed to being constantly glow-y ala. the other games being referenced in the thread.

As others have said, I think it should be judged on a case-by-case situation. In this case, we're fighting Ifrit, so I think it works very well. If we fight a standard opo-opo nm in the future and his equipment is all luminous, I wouldn't be quite so pleased.

I would expect the next Primal we fight to be Titan, and I wouldn't really expect all his gear to glow like that, probably just have an earthen feel and rocky elements to it.
