thats why I hope they keep it for extremely special cases (Ifrit, Shiva, The Dude)

Too over the top? Classiness ? Lol, what do you expect? I am happy as hell because they are perfect and different than anything we have had yet. They look like they are made from Ifrits horns and look perfect. Especially the bow. You are just another reminder that people will continue to complain b**** and moan when we get anything that is new.
AGREED.
Square Enix, You just destroyed the only artistic credibility you had left with FFXIV.
I use colourful language in my posts, what can I say.
Said posts are full of constructive criticism, and especially that second quote of yours hits the nail in the head with the Korea reference. Looking at any Korean MMO shows you why. The similarities are apparent.
And reading how I explained that Korean MMO weaponry design is based on korean anime which is based on japanese anime designs also explains why the weapons look like that in the first place.
These aren't korean weapon designs, they are japanese fantasy anime weapon designs, just because koreans stole the idea doesn't instantly make all weapons that look like that theirs.

Fortunately I can certainly relate the chibi characters with that of XIV's chibi-hyurs and the like, so it certainly makes sense to have similar weapons around in both games.
The problem isn't the origins of the design.
