New stuck at 50 primals

Well I was really enjoying this game til I hit 50, finished 2.4 and came to conclusion I needed to do all the primal hards/extremes to finish 2.5 and so forth. I spent a frustrating day yesterday trying to pug whorl eater extreme to no end.
There seems to be a lack on consideration on the developers part as to what new player is to do coming in when the expansion is the place to be. Free companies want to spend time in new content not running ppl through old primals and the people running the hard extreme pugs are in my same boat. Frustrated,unable to progress and I literally cannot do anything else in this game until I complete this long series of hard mode primals
IMO, developers need to consider how a new player is supposed to get through this content in a reasonable manner. It either needs nerfing or the requirements for progression needs to be looked at. I'll give it a few more tries but if I cannot finish these primals soon I'm done and I've been playing less than a month.

Hi Isabel,

you dont "need" to finish them but I see your point. I personally am amongst those calling out for a raid and extreme primal roulette to help newer people through it and have my own fun. I used to randomly que extremes alone or with friends but I also admit that I am currently caught in 3.0 contents (and simple shiva ex ques wont pop in 3 hrs).
I think in that case you either should get HW (if you dont have) and play along or pause a bit till the expansion hype lifted. Also imo a FC should help you at those contents no matter what :/ but also our FC paused FC raids last two weeks as people were in HW.
I really hope you get to enjoy the extreme primals because they are fun (GIMME DATT RAIDROULETTE) but maybe you need to wait for the hype to go...

You only need the hm for the story. Not the extemes. The expansion is still fresh, so you won't have the same crowds running the old primals until.everything settles down. Aside from the odd unsynced for fun group. Right now is probably the worst possible timing to be learning the primal extremes in DF.

I have HW I can't start it til I finish 2.51 or whatever the last patch is a realm reborn. That's my conundrum I want to start the HW expansion but I can't til I finish the old patches which require the hard extreme modes.

They do not require the extreme modes.

Extreme modes aren't needed. At all. Just hard modes, which you can go in and roll your face on the keyboard and still win (exaggerating a bit, but not that much)

You will end up doing all of the HM as the story progresses. Other than navel and howling, you will have Moggle, Leviathan, Ramuh, and Shiva. All fairly easy. All of them togeather should take no more than an hour of actual instanced time if you get a half decent group.

Thanks I had read some in correct information and the way I'm having to back track to find quest to unlock the instances made it confusing.

You only need the main story quests. Garuda, Titan and Ifrit hard are not part of msq and are not needed to enter Heavensward. Just do the quests with the msq icons. There is no need to track down any quest.
