So where is our 6th cross class skill slot?

Title. I reached 60, I want my 6th slot. Blizzard 2 would be nice to start using for when adds decide to jump on me and I can bind them then run away. Or you know, an actual aoe dps spam for scholar instead of miasma 2. Pertains to any class really, I know my warrior would like another buff he can take.

But blizzard 2 is like 50 potency for 500 mana ._.

Yeah, I was quite disappointed with the lack of a 6th skill slot.

I was expecting not only a 6th slot, but being able to cross-class skills from one of the new jobs (NIN, MCH, AST, DRK) that no "vanilla" job can cross-class from.

It's such a simple thing, but I guess my expectations were way too high

I hate to break it to you, but you get 10 cross-class slots if you take off your job stone. It gets cut to 5, and you lose the ability to use damn near everything in favor of having your job skills. So you lose 5 slots, and those are replaced with the 5 skills you get in the Job. So, there's no loss or gain.

It's unlikely that there will be a 6th slot. You got one slot for every 5 levels until level 50 in the base class without the job stone. As there are only 7 cross-class skills available to a White Mage or 9 to a Scholar, and two of those are redundant (cure/psysick and resurrect/raise) there's no actual need for it.

WHM will only ever find use for Swiftcast, the rest may never get used. SCH and AST will pull Cleric Stance, Protect and maybe Stone Skin from WHM and Swiftcast from THM but that's probably it.

Since none of the Job skills are cross-classable anyway, there won't ever be a need for another skill slot.
