bad lag spikes since heavensward launch

So 2.0 played all throughout with close to no connection problems. the past week since HW launched i get really bad lag every 45-60 seconds for about 1-3 seconds. when I"m out questing its not very often. when I'm in dungeons its absolutely abysmal. especially in the vault that dungeon is basically unplayable. so I've tried reinstalling, hardwired, checked my connections, i get about 120mbps, I've mucked around with my netweork setting, reset my routers, tried things like WTfast, updated my drivers. pretty much everything i can think of and the problem still persists. I"m at my wits end and I don't know what to do about this I really want to continue playing but I"m out of ideas so I'm looking for any advice really anything at this point because I've exhausted all my ideas.

I have have a simliar issue on PS4 version started about 3 days ago now I get the "rubberbanding" affect every so often. Ive tried hard wire and messin with router settings and calling TWC to check there end. Everything looked good but i still get this "rubberbanding" and its annoying. I know PSN had issues so im hoping its that. EDIT: I forgot to say it can happen every few mins to nothing for about 30mins. Itseems also that in DF it happens abit more. But like i said above im hopn its PSN on there end cause if it isnt this is gunna suck big time.

Don't worry I am in the same boat with you. It is incredible how bad the lag can be at times. I'm on Balmung and I can never understand why a NA legacy server would be all the way in bum fuck Montreal, Canada. Yeah sorry canucks. Don't know why the server isn't centralized in North America. Say Dallas or something where a lot of other servers for various other games are. Between 3PM to 9PM or later the lag is utter atrocious and there is no use in even getting on. WTFast doesn't help at all. The lag really needs to be sorted out.

I live in Dallas so ive got no arguments with that. While DF EX, HM, and trials i can get by with its doing the new EX primals that sucks. BTW time of day doesnt matter much in my case it just happned to me all randomly a few days ago. Up until then I had no issues except the log in servers for early access but I figured that much.

They are in Montreal because of the Square-EIDOS facilities there. Their US offices are smaller footprint operations. They actually used to have a presence in Texas at one time I think, something to do with their online stores and such---may still be there (SE fulfillment center in Carrollton is where my token came from in 2009). Not likely setup to handle a big server farm sort of thing though, whereas the EIDOS facilities they acquired a while back were already setup for what they needed.

As to the lag issues... may want to get your route to the servers analyzed, or at least the neolobby02/04/06 addresses for the lobby servers in Canada.

Its a damn pain to have to do all this crap just for a lil lag. Im kinda screwed atm anywho cause i dont have a pc just a PS4 to do what lil I can. At any rate i did all the usal stuff u can do (ie reset modem, wire my ps4...) Even went as far as to change to another DNS (Googles). BTW Raist i read some other ur other posts and they have been helpful, but like i said im limited cause i only have a PS4. EDIT: Forgot to say I know PSN is havin some issues lately wonder if there stuff can cause what im getting seeing as how ive narrowed it down to that or the distance to canada. And neolobby servers Plz explain that part lol.

I'm having the same problem. I'm a latecomer to FFXIV. I only started playing in November 2014. I use a high-end Windows 7 PC and never had the slightest bit of lag anywhere until Heavenseward. Now I lag so badly in dungeons that they're virtually unplayable. In the open world, it's significantly better but still a bit laggy. It's very annoying because I love this game but am actually considering dumping it if things don't improve soon.

Ever since the release of Heavensward, I've experienced large lag spikes as well. I've opened ports, checked drivers, and downgraded graphics. Even still, the lag is very high and I can not understand why.

I have had the same issue as well. And others on Sargatanas has also expressed how much of an increase there is towards lag.
Not only lag, but there seems, (to me anyways), has been an increase of 90ks, 10105s, and very slow loading as well.
