Oops in light of new info and some closer look at the vid, I didnt know mar was executioner in japan and it looks like he is using one of those notched bill type of axes which i forgot are in the game as well. My bad. Still looks like we are gonna have some much needed epic battles come 1.19.

kain = dragoon, a draggon best and defining ability is jump, it is true kain had a sword in FF 4, but every dragoon or person with the jump comand has had a spear/lance, dragoon FF5, gau ff6, cid ff7 kilmari FF10. and any more i might have missed / forgotten

so the new jobs for DoW the way i see it from other treads and what i knw about FF in general

pugilist = monk
archer = bard
lancer = dragoon
marauder = berserker
gladiator - some confusion here, is it paladin is it dark knight, does having a shield make any difference, but just to add to the confusion i got a question.

why would SE a japanese company shun a japanese icon the samurai for a european knight?

anyway that is just how i see things i could be wrong :P

Anyways I think DRK would come from mrd+thm. My thing is , I still think its stupid to release PLD as a job, and DRK as an advanced job. Just my opinion. The advanced job info is in an article translation by reinhart I believe, not sure if its in the JP to English thread but if it has its own thread I'm sure the link is still in the JP to English thread.

Yeah SE pretty much dropped a big bomb with the job anouncement then left all of us hanging on anything resembling detail on it.

This is the quote from Famitsu:

"Currently the "Job" names that finalized are: Paladin, Monk, White Mage, Black Mage, Dragon Knight, Bard.
** Maybe the axe and bow class are just not finalized, don't be afraid!
** There is no any evidence that bow class will get a job as Bard."

The last too lines just add to the confussion. All and all, in my personal opinion, i feel DRK is the most applicable to the oerall spirit and playstyle od MRD. But with all the pirate like lore related idealism, they could be COR as well.

so true. but while we are all a buzz with the excitement of a new job system. there marketing team are rubbing their hands thinking we must be doing something right. to be honest i think they are, i can't wait to see what jobs come.

Personally, I've always seen Warrior as the best fit for MRD, especially with the threat generation abilities it carries.

As far as COR goes, I can almost guarantee that'll be left for Musketeer.
