And if the group wipes because the DPS did so and the tank did actually take the mobs, trying to do their job when others are going out of their way to mess it up? Yes sometimes the group can handle it, but not always. I like tanking, more so bosses then mobs and such situations have happened where DPS pulls extra mobs and gets us killed.

You should read my first post then where I already said that is another story if they can't handle it. The point was you should at least put in the effort first to find that out rather than just let them die.

Is it this hard to ask if the party wants to speedrun?

    1. Open the chat and say "Everyone is fine with a speedrun?"
    2. Wait for the answers.
    3. 3 or more 'yes' = speed run that baby up
    4. 2 or more 'no' = normal pace the dungeon

"Oh but I want to speedrun, I've done this place multiple times and blah blah blah" - Get out of Duty Finder and try using the Party Finder to gather a speedrun group. Voilà!

The proper way to try to get someone to go faster is to ask, not to usurp their role. For the record, though, I don't have an ego when I tank, or when I heal. I know that I'm not stellar at either of them. But I am a good DPS, and I know that as a DPS you do not call up what you can not put down.

Whether or not you feel like you have an ego is whatever. I don't care. I'll let you feel however about that, but letting someone die on purpose because they didn't follow how you think the dungeon should go is an egotistical thing to do. There are no set rules on the way it should go and everyone should adapt to what's going on. Even if you think it's wrong the dps or healer grabbed some extra mobs, it's just as wrong to stop doing your job at that point beause you feel you're the important one to teach them a lesson.

I'll just leave it that. I think I made my point regardless of who agrees and who doesn't.

That doesn't make me important. They wanted my job; I let them have it. It's not my fault if they aren't qualified.

Doesn't matter if you think a party can handle the extra mobs or not, but it's a total dick move to just pull more mobs without first using other means to communicate that you'd like to pick up the pace. Use your words.

Only time I get upset when dps or heals pull extra mobs are when I have a brd/mch and a melee and if they pull more when i have casters etc they have a death wish because I've already pulled as much as i know my Cd's can handle. I like pulling big and getting in and out as much as the next guy but I feel no need to get bashed in the face for a solid minute and a half when I could be chain pulling instead. If I have one our more caster or brd/mch with a caster I'll pull accordingly. Not saying 2 melee can't wreck a big set of mobs but getting them in random df groups is rare and not something I care to test.

I get upset when speed running is done with newbies around or if someone says "smaller pulls, please" and someone still runs off. Another time is when tank literally just pulls a bunch, stays long enough for DPS to start hitting them to get aggro, then leaves the group with a bunch of mobs and I get all the aggro because I heal. And I'm not talking about new tanks, I talk about those jerks on level 50 or so that just don't care in lower level dungeons.

As a healer I can do my job most of the time (sometimes even when I thought I'd never get through it and have desperatedly healed everyone to the point where i'm out of MP seconds before mobs are dead), but if I see someone else is having trouble, I will ask for smaller pulls, just like I will say bigger ones is okay for me if I see everyone is doing well.

20 years of playing MMOs here, most as a tank. The rule, since the beginning, has been 'you pull it, you tank it.' If you die, hopefully you've learned that the puller is the tank.
If a tank wants more groups, he/she will pull them, nobody else.
