I'm referring to the buff you get in the very last fight of Praetorium. Well, assuming you're not in cutscene or otherwise too late when the tank engages.
Considering how faceroll the fight is, I've never really figured out the effects of that buff.

It allows you to survive shadowflare when cast.

Thanks. I was referring to the Lahabrea fight actually. I know that Ultima part 1 starts with the two buffs that keep it from taking damage, but I was actually talking about the player buff that you get upon engaging Lahabrea.

Until that blessing is received, attacks only do 1-3 damage against Ultima.

It's just a story buff that's meant so you can survive against Ultima and Lahabrea and additionally deal damage to Ultima.

You can barely damage Ultima before the buff is activated. It allows you to actually defeat Ultima. The "mechanic" is just there for story purposes really.

The buff does nothing for being able to dmg ultima, if you notice, he has two buffs right off the bat of the fight, it isn't until those drop that you can do normal damage to him.
Blessing of light you get during Ultima fight, restores your mp/tp
As for during Lahabrea fight, not sure, he always goes down so fast that I never noticed an affect.
