Ok, I agree with this part, but from a stockholder point of view only. I don't see this as a failure from a player point of view. I am playing for free and I am enjoying every second of it. Everything SE has done since I started playing has been an improvement to the original state the game was in when I joined.

With this said, it is heading in the right direction, but changes take time. I am patient because i know it could end up as a great game. If it doesn't, what did i lose? Nothing.

I don't agree with your point on making this a single player. It sort of contradicts your post I am referencing here because a single player game would only bring profit at purchase. You finish the game, people move on. This is planned for 5+ years, where it would normally bring 10 times more.

SE is on the right path in my opinion.

"allow SE to hire more ppl"

have you ever coded anything in your life?

    more people != quality
more people = more memory leak
    more people = more discussion
more people = more time used on not programming.

also, if they wanted money, they wpould make it p2p, but they get LOTS of money from their other games at the same time. People also atually "donate" by buying more ff titles just for this game to grow. They dont need money, they need time.
And if you dont have time for that, well, thats your own problem.

Making a singleplayer part would take about 2 years, are you ready to wait for that? no? didnt think do.

why would it take 2 years? Everythings in the game already. All they have to do is make a few new zones and some cutscenes. Shouldn't take more than 1 year. And it would make a great first expansion along with some new multiplayer stuff. It would let them re-launch the game to an entirely new audience.

I charge a $400 an hour consultancy fee.... i run a marketing firm lol.

rather than attack me why don't you argue it.
This game has a battle system
    it has gear
    it has player models
    it has enemy models

All they would have to do is to create cutscenes.
Create a few new zones (which they seem to be able to do in 2-4 months given they are releasing 3 new zones this patch)
and create the story which is really just npc text.

so explain how those few things take 2 years?

"this "single player" part would not effect MMO players very much so saying "we dont like single player stuff" is irrelevant. "

    actually, its very relevant.

if you add single player content, it must be balanced to match multiplayer content NOT OPPOSITE.

this means it must be the same, meaning for example, you cant do this and that cause you arent in a party, even if its "singleplayer mode"

tell me, what ff game have you played singleplayer?

ff 1 had multi, 2 had it, 3, 4, 5, etc actually all had it. You never went as only one character, only in events as starts and endings.

yes and guess what... this game already has an npc partner system in it. Its part of the main missions. So they can use that to let you "solo with a party" and be competitive with SW: TOR, which lets you do that from launch.

I charge a $400 an hour consultancy fee.... i run a marketing firm lol.

and this is why, i NEVER call support.

If you call support they use 2 hours to tell you: sorry i cant help you, please call the programmer instead, oh and heres your 1k dollar bill!

i sued someone for doing that to my mom once, know what? i won, easily!

support dont know stuff, they only do their best to hold you on the phone. If they cant help you in less than 10 minutes, they arent doin their job. To explain others code you must understand it first.

someone which havent taken at least a master in science odnt have the rights to say "i am smart, because i get money for sitting on my ass harvesting others fruits!"

I have a specialist in economics + politics from the best university in my country and one of the top non-american ones in the world. I specialize in neuro-economics (ex. i know neuroscience as well as any BA neuroscience student). I run an e-marketing firm that specializes in maximizing profits using the internet. That means i write web applications. In other words, i know how to program. I have programmed games before (mainly strategy games which required juggling 40ish variables and tons of formulas).

And attracting a non-mmo population to an mmo is good because many of them will enjoy the single player version of the game and decide to try the MMO version.

Lets say a single player mode is implemented.
500,000 people buy the game to play single player. If SE makes even $5 per sale of the -game- that is 2.5mil
If 10% of those players continue on to play the MMO for $10 a month, that is
    $500,000 a month extra profit.
    in a year thats 6mil.

Thus a single player expansion could generate 8.5 mil in 1 year. Since the core game elements are already built, it would probably cost 5mil or less for the labour needed to create a story expansion.

Now many of those people will play/pay for more than a year. And will buy a new FF MMO when it comes out 7 years down the road.

FF single player games in the main series -always- sell well. So SE is almost guarenteed to make a profit off it. Even if they offered it free, the number of new mmo subscriptions it generated could more than pay for the costs and provide more profits for the game.

I mean to determine all this SE would have to run a statisticaly accurate survey to determine if enough ppl would be willing to purchase a single player game when its coupled with an MMO. But theres a good chance it would work
