Need help choosing a class.

So Ive leveled my ninja up to 50 and have just come back to the game but find Nin boring now especially with the mundra lag 80% of the time, I was looking for a different DPS and was torn between monk and dragoon. I like both fast classes and seeing burst damage so I was just wondering if someone could help me out with an overview or some insight from having played both classes?

Do you like lower GCD with your positonals and maintaining buffs and dots? Monk
Do you like maintaining a buff for as long as possible with positionals? DRG

I played both to 50 but haven't played either in Heavensward yet.

MNK is going to be enjoyable if you like positionals to maximize your DPS. DRG is going to be your alternative to that, but they have a pretty complex rotation currently from what I hear. I think DRG offers a bit more in raid utility as well, if that matters to you. Both can hit like freight trucks when played well.

DRG is heavy on positionals now. Ninja too. Kinda sucks they gave them the monk mechanic and gave monk a new one thats kinda stupid.

Thanks for the quick replies. Another problem I had with ninja was with all the skills and dots etc I had no room for certain skills Id like to use if dragoon has a complex rotation would it struggle with that as well? How is monk in that sense?

drg need only use 3 hotbar. so don´t worry..... just bit more then ninja
10 weapon skill button or 11 with feint or (12 with frature if you like)
4 jump button
9 offensive buff button
4 defense buff button
7 pvp skill button
1 LB button
2 AoE button
1 range attack

That's insane I only use one hot bar as nin I don't even know how to use more than one on ps4 might go for monk then lol

Don't worry, you can fit it all on one hotbar, plus using the expanded controls.

I just keep the aoe skills like ring of thorns and doom spike on the second bar.

What do you mean by extended controls? Sorry I'm fairly new to ff and ps4 mmo in general
