If the tank wasn't the leader he wouldn't be in the f2 slot (unless you are the tank) in the party :P!!!!!!

No but seriously. Do you really want the tank to start a fight / boss pull with only 150 tp? Or the Healer has 0 mana? If so you have to be okay with the repercussions. I actually have a friend that when he tanks, if the DPS or somebody pulls off of him or starts a fight without him he just sits there and waits for them to finish. Then He goes and does his own thing. IDK if it really teaches anybody a lesson or not but seriously. 30 seconds is no time at all.

As a warrior I Sometimes Just run into a fight (yes even boss fights)Because I have like 8 Seconds left on my 5 stacks. I've wiped once or twice because of it and have since learned that unless I'm with a fixed group it's WAAAAAAAY better to wait to make sure everybody is ready.

We all know that if the Tank starts and somebody else isn't ready it's the tanks fault.

Anyway, all of the elitism is unwarranted. It isn't as if everyone here is PVPing to compete for openworld Raid bosses or anything like that. Heck, most of us don't even pvp.

there's no way we can have 150 TP or 0 MP for a boss fight even if the tank pull as fast as possible.

and tanks that watch people die should be kicked for trolling.

I agree with you that trolls should be kicked.

To the other point it is VERY Easy for tanks to run out of TP and drop to even below 150 TP. Warriors have Overpower which has a Ridiculous TP Cost. http://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Overpower As for healers running OOM In a scenario of impatient DPS and warrior having to spam Overpower to grab Hate off of all Mobs it is incredibly Likely a healer will run oom as well. I Would consider half mana Or below unsafe for starting Any next encounter but Especially a Boss Fight.

It's actually quite possible to run out of TP on melee with all the SS that's on some of the gear, especially if the other DPS is only moderately geared.

As for the original post...I deal with them by not being a jerk. If I solo-queue as DPS, I do so knowing that I won't have control of pacing. That is the tank's responsibility.

Sorry disagree with you on this. If you pull it without waiting for a tank first, then you can die and get the trip back to the beginning of the dungeon. Only time I will intervene is if the healer tries to heal them. Other than that, well take the lesson and learn from it. And if I get kicked for being a "troll" as you call it, then so be it. If anything the DPS ought to be kicked for the same reason.

I don't. Their face is considerably less squishy than my face. They can have a few seconds if they need it. If they're taking a longer than average time I'll alt-tab until I hear them pull.

It may be a good time getting practice in pulling a bit faster, and more fluidly. at level 50, speed pulling is all people do, so starting practicing early is amazing.

My unofficial goal in a dungeon is to make sure that the healer at no point ever feels bored while running through the dungeon. when I see a SCH especially, I will start the dungeon with saying "we're gonna have some fun, heals!" in party chat, and then after the initial buffs, I'm off pulling 1-2 groups like no tomorrow, and pulling the next groups before the last mobs die. It earns the healers commendation almost every time.

I'm 95% sure that if you are pulling at a respectable speed, the dps aren't running in front of you either. they are too busy killing the last mobs you hit, while you are running for the next set.

Its great to be the one setting the pace, but the pace has to be set at the pace that is optimal for what the group can handle. if you go too fast, you wipe. you go too slow, the dps get bored and start pulling for you. Determining what a group can handle is the other half of the job.
found this post in some old thread and I hope I meet tanks like this more often.

Tanks are expected to know the mechanics of every fight. I'd say some of that time, it's possible they are reading about the fight online.

Down time cuz of getting quick tips from FC/LS chat right then and there.
Or FC/LS chatting to their friend in the same party on how to do the coming fight.

    Down time is fine.
Ppl naturally get faster after re-runs.
Too bad. But deal with it.

    I wait for them.

I'm in no rush, even if I'm personally going "Wow can you hurry please"... especially if they are new.
When I was learning tanking, I certainly wasn't new to the dungeons but I was new to tanking and this would anger me to no end, especially the first time tanking a dungeon.

Just. Wait one second. Not worth stressing someone out and having them lose aggro to kill and wipe everyone when you could have taken a breath and wait.
