    How potent is Asylum?

    Whenever I cast this spell I can hardly see the ticks. How strong is Asylum compared to Medica 2 or Regen? Is it better at higher levels?

    Love the way the spell looks, make pulls a little easier but when I say little I mean it. What does everyone else think of this spell?

    It's regen is higher than medica 2, lower than regular regen. For me at i180 it's around 500 per tic.

    I don't know why you don't see the numbers, Aslyum has a separate tic. So with regen med 2 and asylum up you'll see two tics. One for regen and med 2, and one for asylum.

    I remember Asylum ticking for something around 500±50 as well.

    As an ability, Asylum is a nice addition when a tank takes repeating damage from something and a dose of Regen isn't enough. Same goes for placing the bubble around DPS that I can't be bothered to heal properly. Right now my biggest issue with it is that I keep forgetting I have it. Assize is easier to remember because it plays a part in MP management.

    It is probably the worst out of all the new WHM abilities. Asylum is not that good since the HoT is considerably weak and seems to proc slowly (compared to Regen/Medica II). However, it is useful since it costs zero MP and has a decent recast timer.

    Just know when to use it to its fullest potential in addition to Regen and Medica II, like when a tank and the melee DPS are dealing with a large group of enemies; or in Ravana EX when the tank is taking damage while you're kiting the tethered orbs; or even in A4 when you're targeted with that brutal DoT.

    It would be much better, though, if it could be affected by Divine Seal.

    full i180, weapon 190, he proc at 700-750 and he proc not slowly that the other regen, that alway on tic server like alway ^^

    personnaly, i realy like it, they add lot of aoe dmg at repetition in boss, bismark/ravana/Alex, i use it a lot *_*
    he cant be boosted by divine sin, but in the other way he cant be reducted by the debuff heal (like in A1) like the 2 other new skill ^^

    It doesn't proc slowly and it's not even weaker than Medica 2. I counted a tick every 3s, like regen & Medica 2. And I can't agree with you saying it's the worst new WHM abilities.

    Asylum in 15s heals as much as the regen of Medica 2 in 30s, because Asylum last half the time of Medica 2 but is twice powerful (100 potency vs 50). Then, 9s of Asylum left such as the basis pure heal of Medica 2.

    Medica 2 pure heal is for me at ilvl183 around 1420.

    Asylum ticking 3 times in these 9s left is, for me at same ilvl, around 720 x 3 = 2160.

    So the totale difference between Asylum and Medica 2 is that Asylum heals for around 650-750 HP more.

    Conclusion 1 : yes it is weaker than regen, but it is overall as potent as Medica 2 and compared to the Aspected benefic of the AST (same potency and lasts 18s) Asylum is also slightly better.

    Conclusion 2 : whenever a mechanic demands the potency of a Medica 2 and you can Asylum instead (the raid isn't too spread, ect), just do it and save MP.

    I like it. It's free, and most instances of damage tend to be infrequent enough to let Asylum work its magic. Not to mention, most fights let you stack with little consequence as well, making it essentially a Medica II.

    In all other cases... meh, free Cure II and a bit more on the tank over 24 seconds?

    Of all the new WHM abilities, Asylum is definitely the weakest. It's very situational at level 60 due to how hard enemies hit and the fact that Asylum can't be buffed via Divine Seal to compensate. Changing it to be a "spell" would do wonders towards addressing the lack of heal output (especially since it ignores WAR Defiance)
